JH lessons in February
Hi Lola,
Congratulations on your upcoming trip to Jackson Hole!
Have you been here before?
I am not sure how long you are staying and what your thoughts on lessons were.
Depending on your goals with the lesson, I would recommend either taking one right away to get to know the mountain (if visibility is decent that day), or waiting a day or two if you have a few days so you can get your skiing back to where you last left off...this gives you some time to warm up on your own, before starting to focus on technique and new concepts. Though perhaps you are one of the lucky and determined skiers who has a chance to ski on a regular basis!
Either way, I would love to ski with you or try to match your goals, learning style, and level with one of my many colleagues.
The Mountain Sports School has instructors with a range of certification levels, and approaches to teaching.
I have a reputation as a patient (read not the most forceful) female instructor. I probably teach more to the feeler/thinker type of learner, which is what I am. I love our resort and the varied runs it offers, and enjoy sharing it with my students. I became a PSIA level 3 certified last year, and have been teaching skiing since 2001. I also have colleagues, that are more inclined to give their students a gentle nudge to get them to push their boundaries faster, and who tend to teach more to the doers.
Another option is always to take a group lesson. I do not know you level of skiing, but most of our upper level goup instructors have years of experience and the classes are almost never greater than four students.
I have not used this forum enough to send private messages yet, but I believe you might be able to do so.
