Dear Divas,
I am having an absolutely fabulous time here at Jackson Hole, WY. What an absolutely incredible mountain! I can't say enough good things about it. Blue bird skies. Tremendous terrain. Fabulous company. What more can I say? Oh, I wish you were here, especially when I wished SkiDiva a very Happy Birthday this morning!
Wish you were here!

Another fabulous day of skiing. The last two days I have experienced a new weather phenomenon called inversion. This is where the summit temperature and/or conditions are better than the base conditions. For instance, today at Jackson Hole the weather at the base ranged between -5 and +10 degrees. But, once you road the gondola up the mountain, the conditions were like spring skiing, ranging between 35 and 50 degrees. Wild, huh? We ate lunch at the top of the gondola outside where the thermometer registered 50 degrees. And, you could actually feel the temperature drop as you skied further down the mountain.

Anyway, here is a photo of me skiing with one of my husband's friends (Finndog from Epic).

I also met a great lady to ski with. She is a tele-skier (Do we have a tele-ski thread or series of threads?). Check out her photo below. She is an awesome skier and an awesome person. She lives in NJ and skies Mad River Glen most every weekend.

I see on FB that you have "catapulted" in your skiing on this trip. Way to get after it!!

Keep it up!

Of course I did. The very first run on Monday morning with a "Happy Birthday Ski Diva!"

And Rachel, no, Corbets is not open. I've seen it from the gondola, and I've seen pictures of it, but I have not skied it, nor do I think I ever will. Corbets is way outta my league.

Just wait! One or two more catapults and you'll be reconsidering! ;)

Wow - you made me burst out laughing! Two more catapults and a potato launcher later, and I still think that Corbet's will be outta my league. But thanks for the vote of confidence!
