I've missed you all terribly

I've had a craptacular winter so I've kept away from here. Now I realize what a bad move that was and how much I've missed you all.

Work has been sporadic this winter and therefore so have the paychecks. For some reason, hubby prefers that I pay the bills with his paychecks instead of buying lift tickets. Gawd! He needs to get his priorities straight!

I've been out less than a handful of times this season and none of them were great. My friends at Sunday River are injured and have rented out their house, so there's no long weekends up that way either.

Our house is back on the market, and I SWEAR we will be living in NH by the time next season opens. I've got big plans to start my own business (I'll tell you more when I get to NH!) and need to be there soon.

We've had a pretty steady stream of showings. All it takes is one, right? So keep your fingers crossed for me ladies, and thanks!

oh BTW, have a blast at Okemo tomorrow, wish I could go!

TriMom,

Glad to hear your disappearance was nothing worse than lack of cash - I know how bad that can be... but at least it usually resolves. I missed some great skiing in January due to being out of work due to no choice of my own and it really sucked. I've been trying to make up for lost time since then, but mother nature has been conspiring against me this past week. :(

I'm sure things will turn around for you. You're still healthy and you've got a plan. Good luck and don't disappear again!

Sorry you've been having a crappy winter. Hopefully everything will get on track and by next winter your current state will be a distant memory. Good luck on your move. You're right, it only takes one, and you never know when. I've always wanted to check out Cape Cod, though! I was planning on taking a March trip to the area and skiing Stratton with the free lift ticket from the sweepstakes, then visiting friends in Boston and checking out Cape Cod. Oh well, maybe next year.

Speaking of which, though, did you do the Stratton 10k lift ticket giveaway? If you're skipping out on skiing due to lack of cash, that might help you out, though only once.

The good news.....YOU'RE BACK!!! :cheer:

Glad to see you and I'm SURE things will be looking up soon!
Welcome Back!

Wow, TriMom - I totally feel like I've dropped the proverbial ball here! Should have pm'd you--my apologies, totally. SO sorry to hear you've had a less than great winter. Guess you'll hopefully find yourself in similar company when you catch up on the news here. Some of us have had injuries, some have had surgery - or DH has had surgery - and some of us are facing it. But---some good times for others as well.

So sorry to hear of your Sunday River friends sustaining injuries!! And even rented out their house?

Hoping along w/you for house sale and your being able to relocate!! When/if that happens, you'll be in "closer range," and hopefully we can meet up - next season??? Crossing fingers and toes for you.

Glad you're back, Trimom!

I hear you about the house. It took us forever to sell our house in PA so we could move up to VT -- and it was a really nice house, too. Hang in there. It just takes one person.

thanks all, it's good to be back

Persee, I don't remember what you said that you do for work. I am sorry that we weren't able to hook up when we tried to make it happen. Next year has GOT to be better!

Num, I never heard about the Stratton ticket give away. I always find out these things when it's too late! Give me a jingle if you come to Cape Cod, we'll meet up for sure!

NVG and MSL, no worries, it's all good  The school I'm working at is at Sunday River this weekend. I tried to get on the trip at the last minute but was shot down. I had one teacher say I COULD go and another say that I could not. In the end I decided not to push the issue since it meant chaperoning 35 high school kids and sleeping at the Sno Cap dorm.

Wendy, PMing you about house stuff.....

Yeah, for sure don't disappear on us. We're good at cheering people up??? Whatever the circumstances, and quite a few of us have had some doozies. Not including mine in the doozy-category, but it was and is a PITA - or should I say PITK - and I feel like I got about 50 get well cards!! Sure is more than I'd get from any of my friends...:( who all think I'm nuts for even liking winter, much less skiing. ("It's okay, she'll be human again by May.") ( )

We'll send a smile your way, with good vibes that soon you'll be on your way to a new location!
