I have begun to participate on Alpine Zone from time to time, as does our very own Severine.

Marc, one of the AZ'ers, will be participating in the Pan-Massachusetts Challenge, which is a fundraiser,(to simplify, here is a portion of their mission statement)

The Pan-Massachusetts Challenge raises money for life-saving cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through an annual bike-a-thon that crosses the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

On with my story.
I donated for Marc, and challenged him that I'd double it if he wore an I'm a SkiDiva ticker.
He took me up on it!!!!

In 2007, the PMC donated 100% of every rider-raised dollar directly to cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through its Jimmy Fund. The PMC generates over 50 percent of the Jimmy Fund's annual revenue. In 2007, the event raised and contributed $33 million to the Jimmy Fund, bringing its 28-year contribution to more than $204 million. The PMC's 2008 goal is to raise $34 million for the Jimmy Fund - crucial funds that are making a difference in the lives of cancer patients around the world.

Very impressive efforts to fight cancer!

Great cause, and (shhhhhhh!! Don't tell anyone!) Marc's a good guy beneath it all. Especially for doing this.

I've wanted to participate in the PMC ever since I heard about it, but have stuck to just contributing $$ because it's during August and always seems to be on the most hot, humid, hazy, miserable, drippy, & insufferable days of the year!

I feel remiss, as I've not updated on the event.
Marc completed the PMC and has generated over 3,000.00 in pledges, AND,.............
he rode into Ptown with the SkiDiva Sticker/logo on his jersey!!!!!
That's right, he made the sticker into a transfer and had it permanently added to his jersey!!!
This guy went the extra mile!!!

He was by himself and his cell phone (aka his camera) battery died by the end, so unfortunately, no photos of him with the jersey on. :(
