Kulkea...Holy wow those bags are built to last. David Abramowitz is the owner and such a great creative guy who commits to well built bags. Not cheap but totally worth it.
Agree that Kulkea bags are well designed and built. When the Kayda first came out, I told David at Snowbound a year (or two?) ago that it was too long for me (5'0"). Was happy to hear then he planned to come out with a smaller version. The smaller Kayda is just a bit shorter, but felt perfect on my back. Since my boots and clothing take up less space then is the case for someone with 25+ ski boots, the smaller capacity would still be plenty of space.

I have the Kulkea Micro-Pack and the Heated Bootbag. One reason I like attending ski shows is to check out stuff in person. Needed to make sure I could deal with size of the heated bag. Since Kulkea is local to Boston, they were at the Ski Expo from the early days of the company. I'm glad they continue to have a booth after it morphed into Snowbound Expo.

I only use the heated bag when I drive for a ski trip. It's big and heavy with boots and stuff in it. For now, I can manage. I won't bring it when flying. I saw several at various places out west last season.

I ended up ordering the Akova jacket in the size small I couldn't try on at the ski expo... fingers crossed it fits well! The medium was okay at the expo, but quite baggier than my preference would be and the arms were actually really long on me which was unusually nice since I do have long arms which is often an issue for me in jackets, but these were a bit more excessive than even I'd prefer in that regard as well. So, hopefully the small will be perfect! This jacket is still on pre-order status, so I'm not sure exactly when I'll have it to try but the expo discount deal goes until December 7th, and I didn't want to forget about it so figured I'd just pull the trigger now. :yahoo:

I wanted to update on the Akova shell. It came in and was so darn lovely, but alas the small was surprisingly TOO small on me afterall! The arms were wonderfully long still and it was a good length etc., but the body itself only fit well with nothing underneath but a baselayer whereas adding more made me feel too michelin man-esque. This was pretty surprising for me as I am almost always a small in ski jackets, and the only issue there tends to be are with sleeves being too short on some brands, but never with the body itself being too tight.

So, I am exchanging it for the medium which was very comfy at the expo when I tried it on. I thought it was a little baggy, but I would prefer a little more space than too little space overall given that this is an uninsulated shell.

As far as interesting products, the monoski takes the cake. Never seen one before but it looks positively terrifying having both feet locked onto one ski.

I am interested if anyone saw or has used the infrared wax system. That looked intriguing and like something I could easily do.

I really liked the Kulkea bags, in all their forms. Seems like their stuff is well built too.
We have the infrared waxer and it's great. You don't have to scrape and getting the wax on is way faster.
