It'd be great to have a list of Divas who are ski instructors, in case anyone from the forum wants a lesson. So if you're an instructor, how about about listing your mountain, level, experience, and area of expertise (if anything specific)? Plus anything else you want us to know.

We'd also like to post your affiliation under your user name so it appears every time you post. So please PM me your information so I can put that in place.

This is not a requirement, but it's a great way to let people know where you're coming from and where your expertise might lie.

OK Diva's - Canadian Ski Instructor level 2. Teaching for more than 25 years. All recalls etc, up to date. Specialty is women's skiing. No home mountain at the moment. Have taught with a travelling ski club, small Ontario hill and also Mt Tremblant this year - President's week. Toying with the idea of going back to the Ontario hill next winter for "ladies night" during the week. I have taken the level 3 course, but not the exams and will now have to redo the course. Thinking about it for next year. (Why I want to do ladies night!) I really love teaching rank beginners. They acheive so much in so little time. Teaching something you love, makes it so much easier.

I worked as a ski instructor for 7 years at my local mountain, Bogus Basin, Idaho. I was a level I and working towards my level II when I decided to go and get married  I can teach any age, but really enjoy working with kids. They are the best to teach!

I am a PSIA Level II insturctor--teach full time at Big Mountain in Whitefish, Montana. I am 63 years old, so am very familiar with the change from old school to new--and I do love the new shaped skis, they make skiing easier and more fun. It is great to take someone who is struggling to the ski shop, put them on shaped skis and then take them out--what a difference.

This season will be my eighth as an instructor, have also worked as a Ski Ambassador at our mountain.I am working on my level III and expect to take the exam in the next season.

I teach lots of women---Women's Workshops, Ladies Day, Custom Ladies Groups, and I do have a lot of fun. Since I learned to ski as an adult, I am more emphathetic to the "terminal intermediates" that I meet. With the new skis, it is a quick jump from beginner to intermediate, but then it is a longer time and bigger committment to get to the advanced level.

Most of all, I love to slide on snow---I have fun all the time and love to teach.

Mr. NVG is a PSIA Level III. He teaches when they call him to cover or when he feels like going up. He has another job, too! :D He prefers to teach skiing, though......

Hi!

I'm brand new to this forum, but this looked like a good thread to introduce myself in. My name is Anne, a.k.a., Snowmiser. I frequently visit epic's forum and occasionally TGR. I'm a P.S.I.A. Central Level II instructor. I'm planning on taking my Level III this year. I teach full-time at a small area in Southeast Michigan.

These forums are a great resource to learn new ways to teach and ski and I'm looking forward to all of your great insights and experiences.

Thanks!

Welcome, Snowmiser! We have a lot of Divas who also post on Epic, so you're in good company  . And there are Divas from Michigan here, too.

Just so everyone knows, we do have a forum called "Getting To Know You," where you can introduce yourself to the forum at large.

I teach full-time at a small mountain in Maine called Lost Valley, where I supervise the 3-5 year olds. This will be my 5th season. I passed Level II, Part I last season and plan to do Part II as soon as the snow flies.

HI,
I've been teaching for a little over 26 yrs now. PSIA level 3. I specialize in programs for women. My kids race

I now teach for "Tyrolian ski adventures" and am one of the co-founders of"Ski Treats for women". I am a Instructor trainer for the NSP-C ski school at Mt. Holly where I am on Ski Patrol. I was a clothing buyer, ladies hard goods buyer, and boot fitter for 25 yrs with 3 different shops. This year my son graduated from High school and I retired from working a full time job. This year I'm just going to teach, free ski, and ride my horse! I'm always avalible for privates, my schedule is flexible! I love being gainfully unemployed! My Motto is Just smile! And they'll think you know what you're doing!

I'm PSIA Level 1, teaching full-time at Squaw Valley. I was supposed to take Level 2 last season but I chickened out so I will be taking it this season (this is only my fifth season skiing, fourth teaching!). I'm also a Children's Specialist, although I teach in the adult ski school we also do kid's private lessons and I usually get the under 3's who aren't old enough to be in the Squaw Kids programme. I love teaching the little ones (I'm a maternity nanny in my other life) and I also get a kick out of adult beginners and improvers!

Are we allowed to endorse? If this is not the place I apologize.

Anna is fabulous - skied with her on Wednesdays (WW program)

I realized that my saying that Anna is fabulous is not particularily descriptive:
Anna is intelligent and fun, she can see a problem and come up with more than one visual or aid to correct the flaw. This is important as an instructor with fewer options in describing problems have fewer solutions.
She is able to take a diverse group and when they are able she can jolly them along to push at their limits (yet still feel comfortable).
Her lesson plans fit the terrain and conditions. She is one of my favorite instructors at copper mountain( I do have several favorites each with their own strengths.)
She does however sing slightly off key, but that is a minor flaw.

Thanks Lucine!

Someone is making me guess who they are...hmmm...this might take me a while. After all, everyone knows how badly I sing, even if they've never skied with me.
