in need of gear advice

Greetings everyone,
I'm a new member looking for help. I need to update my skis. I would say I'm adv-intermediate to advanced (strong), but will mainly be skiing (or just coasting) down the hill with my kids (they are learning to board and progress is slow) I live in Minnesota so am skiing on icy, junk snow most of the year. I like the Dynastar exclusive fluid ltd and speed magic, but concerned that they will not perform in the conditions here. When I'm not with the kids, it would be nice to have a ski to keep improving on. If anyone out there has a few suggestions for me, I'd appreciate it.

Big Dynastar fan here, 18 of last 23 years. If the Exclusive Fluid is the successor to the 10 or better, you're in luck. I'm not altogether familiar with this year's line-up (sorry), but I will tell you that Dynastar's Exclusive line is freakin' fantastic. I've never been happier or had a better time skiing. As for ice, well, I live on the Ice Coast, it's just a fact of life here. NO WORRIES. I don't think you can go wrong. There are a lot of totally great choices out there in many lines, just giving you MHO on my favorite. Absolutely wonderful skis. I'm +- advanced in level but way over the proverbial hill (hopefully in a good way??? ). Mine will do it all, except probably deep powder, which is highly elusive in this part of the world. I'm not familiar with the Dynastar but am extremely familiar with the speed magic.
The Speed magic has some awesome properties to handle the exact conditions you describe. The torsional flex allowed by the wave technology allows it to carve nicely, while it also gives it the stiffness when its needed to blow away the crud and marbles.
I can't imagine you having any probelm with the Speed Magic taking you anywhere you want to go on the mountain, whether you're looking for the casual forgiveness with the kids or the aggressive attitude to take on the mountain.

Another ski you may consider in that range of ski is the Fischer Vapor.
Hearing good things about it, I haven't tried it yet, but I'm gonna, if'n I get the chance!
