In a Funk...

First if this is in the wrong area I apoligize and it can be moved..

Anyways, I'm in a funk, don't want to ski:eek: . Today is looking to be a wonderful day, I'm off work, have a season pass and no desire to ski.

I lost a ski about 3 weeks ago and really haven't wanted to ski since. It was one of my brand new Rossi B2W's! Only had 2 days on them. I was soo excited for this season and the new sticks and boots. But now one is gone and so is my desire to ski. I do have other sticks that I love to ski (K2 freedom's) but since I lost that one, I don't know what's been going on.

Anyone else gotten in a funk?

I have a suggestion. The ski manufacturer may be willing to replace your ski for very little $$. They often have a stash of 1 ski. So call and act very sad and tell them how much you loved their ski. I bet they put you back ib business. It has worked many times for members of my family.

Not want to ski? This is serious. Take Lilgeorg's suggestion. It actually works. I know two people who've replaced skis that way.

Just wondering -- how'd you lose the ski???

I will try and call Rossi (any one know how?).. Never thought of that! Thanks.

I lost it in a wreck in Hellroaring basin on Big Mountain. We dug for almost 3 hours and never did find it! and then my friend went back up and dug that week!

There is a good reason to go back to the old safety straps we all hated. If you can't get just one ski you can try e-bay. If you know what you want you can find good deals. I got an $800 pair of skis for $300 with bindings brand new. The ski shop was over stocked.

WHOO HOO!!

I called Rossi and have another ski on it's way! I'll have to buy new binders tho, no biggie they are alot less expensive then skis! I have a set of new solly's but don't want to put them on (too heavy).

I know once I get the new stick and get a binder on it I'll want to ski again. But I gotta get moved first (uck  )

Thanks Diva's for the great info!

Yes there is ski/snow god for sure. Once you get that ski, you'll be off to the slopes in no time. Moving - like a house and home - just throw it all in a truck!!

So, Snobound, next time you're in a lose-a-ski-and-have-to-dig-for-it position are you going to put ribbon (hair, flagging tape, sewing, etc.) on your bindings so you can find your ski?

I remember skiing in Utah years ago and one of the guys on the trip went snowcat skiing. He came back with flourscent ribbons that were attached to his skis, that he packed up into his pant legs. I thought they were a great idea. So are these things not available anymore?? (Utah trip was 1989!!)

Yes, I've seen them at a couple of our ski stores. Although it seems to me that a roll of surveyor's tape in flourescent pink would be cheaper??

Yeah, I will have the tape up my leg next time I head to Hellroaring.
Funny, after about a hour of digging I even said that I know better to ski this with out pow cords (or the tape) and it's my own dang fault for being lazy.

My mom (still skiing at 54) said she knows how to make the old cable powder cords and could make me some. I told her I was just going to get the tape. It'll be less expensive and I really don't like the idea that if I release out of the ski it's still attached to me. To which she argreed (she recieved about a dozen stiches once, released out of the ski but it came up and wacked her in the face since she was still attached to it via cable cord)

My dad (wants to learn how to snowboard at 57) just asked if I had the tape on and when I said no he just laughed (alot) and said you know better so I'm not going to feel sorry for you.
