Icelantic skis?

Today, as I was coming out of Honeycomb on my Pocket Rockets (shhhh---my staff doesn't know I snuck up this a.m.), one of the Solitude FOGs was encouraging me to switch from PRs to Icelantics. He said he made the switch from his PRs to the new Icelantics this year and another FOG did also. He was touting their speed, float, and maneuverability in powder.

Any Divas ever ski on these? I'm intrigued:

I'm intrigued as well! I've been researching super-fat skis for the past few weeks, and the Icelantic Shaman has come up frequently. There are some good reviews on the Shaman and Nomad over on Epic ski and TGR.

I'm trying to find some place that has a pair to demo. I'd hate to buy without putting them on snow first. But once I ski it I can usually tell pretty quickly whether I will like a ski or not.

My friend is selling hers. She has horrible knee and ankle problems and the sidecut was too much to try to traverse with. PM me if you are interested and I will put you in touch.

Curious as well...

I have also been intrigued by the Icelantics, I just got word on these skis recently. I am planning on purchasing new skis this year and I am pretty set on demoing some Volkl's, although I live in Alaska and it will either be impossible or really hard to find a demo of Icelantics so any feedback on them would be greatly appreciated, maybe I'll just need to head to CO. for some demoing

How is it that I missed this thread in January????

I agree, dloveski; intriguing. I'd love to give them a try.

I just got a pair of the Pilgrim's ('08-'09) and am really excited to try them out. My boyfriend has the Shaman and he likes them, although he's a racer and isn't into skiing super fat skis. I have to convince him to take them out more...! I'm curious to how the Nomad SFT would feel. They sound like something I'd definitely like to try.
