I want a quiver!!!!

Ok, I really think i'm ready for my second pair of skiis. My Rossi Attraxion IIIs were good to start the year off again after taking off so much time but I'm all set to start having more fun on the hill! I ski mostly groomers and some bumps and crud, some ice, some minimal powder days (although not looking for a powder ski...) I ski east coast in Canada...
I'd say i'm fairly aggressive, like to ski fast (trying to tame it down though with better technique) love short radius!

Lets hear some recommendations!!!!

I must be a total dork, I have two pairs of alpine skis right now, most I've ever owned at one time that worked, and I can't wait to sell a pair. I only get to ski about 3 times a week, some weeks only 2 and I only go on one or two week long ski trips, so I just don't feel the need to own more than one pair of skis. Even back in the day of skiing all week, I never even heard of a quiver. Of course I was broke too. Am I nuts?

Um, NO....I didn't realize until this year either that people would need to own more than one pair at a time. I am really just a shop-a-holic... that's my excuse.

I was happy enough with my single pair of skis for quite some years but one day in Vail with 3 feet of powder, I realize I NEED a wider one.

Some may say I don't need new ski, I just need better technique. But living at the east, what's my chance of REAL powder? I mean not the heavy mash patato we get here when it snowed. But the real, bottomless kind. So, how long would it take me to "learn better technique"? A decade or two (if I'm really lucky)? ;-)

Fortunately, I'm pretty small, and not too tall. So, even a "mid-fat" would be awful big as far as I can tell. So, they're my "powder skis"...

And if I get to ski more, maybe I don't even need that midfat. I might even get good enough to ski powder on a Burning Luv (68mm wast)!

I'd recommend adding a midfat to the quiver HM.
Look at the Nordica Conquer, and/or the blizzard Titan Eos,
Head Wild thang, Elan Wave Spice
All great mid fats that you should have on your shortlist to demo.

The Elan and the Nordica are better crud busters and carvers.
But you'll lose something in the bumps with them.

The Head and eos will both be more nimble in the tricky stuff like bumps and poppers.

Of these, the eos will be better in powder.
The wild thang will give up some speed.

Have I confused you enough?

Or the Head Monster 82. Almost the same side cut as the Wild Thang, but won't give up any speed. Not sure how they'll be in the bumps; haven't tried them there yet.

I skied the wild thang in the bumps, and I did fairly well, considering I suck in the bumps.
Ask nannymin..........the other VC of ESA! :becky:
