I Purchased CARV

I won't answer for her but for me, it works well in conjunction with my ski instructor and helps me from time to time to keep a goal to improve.

I like it a lot.

Thank you. I might get one for next season!

I love mine, and look forward to working with it again next season!
Don't you mean, you look forward to be catching you on the leaderboard next season?

Oooooh, This is good to know! Thank you.
I think it just depends on your personality with this sort of thing. In my case I'm very competitive with MYSELF and very goal oriented, always looking to improve whatever I'm doing. Not just skiing. That's just me, I don't function in a way that says okay I'm happy with where I am now... ever. lol For better or worse, that's me when I'm very invested in something and that definitely includes skiing. So I am very motivated to play with my Carv units and track where I am on the leaderboard at my mountain etc., I love data and stats (outside of actual scoring too like how many turns did I make this season and how many miles did I ski today, etc.) it's very fun to me.

However, there have been some Divas who feel the opposite and that it made them feel bad about their skiing if they weren't progressing how they'd hoped etc. In my case I was stuck at a 138 most of the season which was immensely frustrating, but also motivating to keep pushing, so on one of my last days of the season when I finally reached my goal score of 140 that I had been working towards all year... I was thrilled! So it depends, do you like or dislike this sort of thing in general?

Only you know where you fall on the spectrum in this regard.

@MissySki and @SnowHot me three!

The end of season review informed me of a top score turn of 152, but I seek and entire segment. Now debating if I should sign up for a carving camp.

I'll share a tiny secret. There is a guy on our website that I have skied with in the past who I beat on CARV.
I had some guilty pleasure when I passed him.
I have a couple of men I know using Carv at my local mountain and also had some pleasure in being a bit higher than them on our leaderboard lol. We are pretty similar skiers I think, so it was nice.

Ladies, I am a rad long in the nose with envy. I on the other hand score much lower than a few guys who's skiing I don't much admire, eeeek. Though the super high scorers I would be honored to even ski half as well as they do.

The guy I beat early on is someone I've skied with and I don't really like his skiing style. I also thought.... Please tell me I don't ski worse than him.
I ended up crushing his Ski IQ quickly. Whew!

I think what kept the system fun for me was that I did not use it, or get to use it, very often. I had CARV up and running maybe 30 per cent of the days that I skied and realized quite quickly that it was more productive in terms of improvement and data collection to only use it on days and runs where I truly focused on the process and all that it demands. If I wore them on random teaching days the data proved to be useless and fidgeting with the app etc. became a distraction. Because most of my ski days are about other people's enjoyment and focus, I looked forward to the runs or days that I could focus on the app and my own skiing. I wonder if limiting use could be a way to get more out of the tool that it is. I still am eager to explore it more and see where the software development goes with it.

Some of what made it fun for me is that my husband and I were both doing it and when I was demoing it at Blister (Crested Butte) we were hanging out with the CARV crew as well as Marcus Caston and Ted Ligety. That didn't suck.
