Exactly. I feel like it could help accelerate the learning curve.Ohh I see, you’d like to work with this in conjunction with an instructor?
Thanks for the link.Annnnnnd thanks to you lovely ladies I just purchased Carv 2 as well .. can't wait to have skiing here and actually get to try them.
For anyone else, I found this a good read: https://getcarv.com/blog/introducing-carv-2
Would you be interested in sharing that code with me?If anyone else is thinking of buying it, there is a “refer a friend” option that gets you 25% off and signs me up for prizes! I just saw this when I connected my sensors.
PM me your email and I can send you a code.Would you be interested in sharing that code with me?
Maybe good to check in with them? My original delivery date was this coming Tuesday and I was surprised to receive it yesterday just 4 days after ordering. It was very quick. I know some other people who received theirs already as well. It’s helpful to know the new units have started shipping. Now I’m wondering if I’m having PO Box issues, I ordered a while ago but have not received mine yet. :(
I haven’t either. I’m a founding member who upgraded from Carv 1 almost a month ago but haven’t yet received the new version. Just checked and no shipping updates. It’s helpful to know the new units have started shipping. Now I’m wondering if I’m having PO Box issues, I ordered a while ago but have not received mine yet. :(
That’s so odd…. Perhaps upgrades are just a separate process than new orders?I haven’t either. I’m a founding member who upgraded from Carv 1 almost a month ago but haven’t yet received the new version. Just checked and no shipping updates.
That makes sense. I can see how they’d want to prioritize getting new users their sensors so the new folks can start getting up to speed with the software, plus it makes a better impression. Theoretically the upgraded users could still be using their old sensors but I just got new boots and there’s no way I’m putting my old inserts in my new boots!I just got a reply from Carv today. The units that are an upgrade from Carv 1 have not started shipping yet. I think that’s why @MissySki’s unit has already shipped- it’s not an upgrade.
They said the upgrade units will start shipping in mid-November.
I have Carv 1 and am about to renew to get the new version. It doesn’t come with earbuds. I use helmet headphones so I don’t risk losing my AirPods. You also need your phone to initiate the drills and coaching.Another couple of questions: The earbuds are provided or can you use your own? Can the phone be pocketed and left alone for the most part? The audio does the coaching, so I assume the phone isn't needed unless someone wishes to review data?
The product would be fun when skiing solo.
This is exactly the approach I take. I do a seasonal program that I supplement with Carv when skiing on my own.I do a seasonal ski lesson program, and don’t really anticipate it would replace that for me. Though I also get other stuff out of the program I do including camaraderie and line cutting privileges on weekends. I also love to have interactive discussions on technique with my instructors, ask questions, etc. For me, I think this will be fun on those days I’m on my own skiing and want to work on stuff…. which is quite often too. I am usually just going by how things feel and think it’ll be nice to get some feedback at those times, especially off piste.
Good to know. A car key fob in addition to the Hottronics will require wearing the widest legs of any ski pant I own!! lol. And I wouldn't be compelled to be looking at the data after every run, so phone can stay put. Also encouraging. They are about the size of a car key fob, so won't take up much room under the pant leg. No earbuds--use your own. You connect them via Bluetooth. I think the phone can be left in your pocket unless you want to see certain things while skiing. I don't know since I have not used them yet.
