Gotta love the end of season sales!

I just picked up a pair of Fischer Vision 73s for half price: $337., down from $675. (with bindings). I demoed them out at Steamboat and really had a blast, so I'm really excited!

If it doesn't rain tomorrow (yes, I'm a wimp and hate to go out in the rain) I'll be giving them their inaugural run! :D

Whoooo hooooo!
I'm so excited for you!
Are they, year end demos or new close outs?

What I didn't mention is that I'm also getting a pair of Queen Attivas! Cheap! :o

And yes, the Fischers are brand new. Closeouts.

Is this the start of a quiver?

I'm envious! I don't think new skis are in the cards for me. :( Maybe at the end of next season.

Thank God! You saw the light!

I knew you would!

I got my Head Lightnings at Sports Odyssey in Ludlow, end of season.

Please explain the respective uses of your 3-ski quiver.

Head Monster i.M 70's (old skis): Rock skis
Fischer Vision 73s: everyday ski (New England hard pack, groomers, moguls)
Volkl Queen Attivas: powder, crud

That makes sense. I wanted to save my head Lightnings in case I needed a stiffer ski than my new Fischer Vision 70s for some reason, but I couldn't afford to keep them!

You got a great price on the 73s. I paid $320 for the 70s.

By the way, do you DRIVE from PA to Vermont??

I live in VT during ski season, only going back to PA occasionally. But when I do, I definitely drive! Beats walking! :D

Congratulations Wendy!

New boots . . . . new skis . . . . what's next? New poles . . . new jacket (yes it's time for a new jacket :D) . . . new helmet . . . new ski pants . . . This sounds like the start of a beautiful relationship! :D I guess Jon is going to have to write a few more books to keep The Ski Diva is the style she is becoming accustomed to. :D

Of course, you know I'm just kidding. Congratulations and enjoy!

And when you get a new jacket, get a color that pops out in photos, instead of blending with the trees. ;)

Enjoy em, Ski Diva! Lola's right, and there's no time like now to get some late season deals on jackets, and pants, and goggles, and poles, and.... :D

Looks like several people upped it from one ski to a quiver this year, which is excellent! I'm hoping to join the club next season. Quick roll call: How many divas built a quiver this season? How many divas got something in the Fischer Vision series?

Indeed. I finally caught up to the hubby and now have a quiver:

K2 T9 True Luv (05-06 model) in 153
Volkl Attiva AC3 (06-07 model) in 156

Still need to get my rock ski!

The only gear I'm actually actively searching for is a pair of northface black shell pants. They're one of the few brands that is short enough for me. I've got a pair of thicker ski pants but there are times - like last april in tahoe - that I want something lighter on my legs.

So for reference here's my gear:
skis (see above)
boots : Nordica W8W's
poles : K2 4 speeds (graphite)
helmet : Giro 9
goggles : Smith Anthem
pants : forgot the brand!
jacket : NorthFace shell/system
gloves : Level (forgot the model)
socks : smartwool

I like my setup!

What's all this about my jacket????? Is this some kind of general hint? Is it that bad? I've always kind of liked it. Now I'm wondering if people have been laughing and pointing or something!

By the way, went out and skied this morning (til the warm temps turned the snow to glue), and so far, I'm really liking these skis!
