I got new ski boots!

Well, almost. I pick them up tomorrow. They're all fitted and everything -- they just have to adjust my bindings.

So what did I get? Atomic Hawx 90s, from Shon at BootPro in Ludlow, VT. I've never had Atomics before, and these are really, really nice. But I guess I'll know for sure once I ski them.

Congrats on your purchase, SD! They sure are purty! I think mine are last years because they are black w/ red "gills". So far I'm very happy with them. Have skiied them 4 times now and don't need any major work. Footbeds (trim to fit) took care of the major issues and I MAY have just alittle of the shell punched at the tip of my big toes. As you know last monday was very very cold and I had no problems with cold toes. Please let me know what you think after you ski in them. I'd love to see if you notice any difference due to the "flex zone" area.

Very nice! Benefit, they'll never clash with your skis or your clothes. Not that we buy gear based on looks but it's a nice bonus. I hope your feet are very happy in them.

They are nice! And did you go down a size, or were you already on the limit?

I did go down -- from 23 to 22. BTW, it's not easy to find 22 ski boots!

And you can use your boot heaters!! Interested to know how they feel skiing. When I tried them on the flex in the sole was the first thing I noticed. So I'm interested if you can feel that on skis.

(I love the way my boots feel, but can't stand how they look...light blue...so NOT me. Ah well, I guess you can't have everything.)

Well, I went out and skied them this morning, and I'm happy to report: as of now, I have no issues with my boots at all! Incredible, I know. But there it is. I love the fit. And even though I'd been told that they could be a "cold" boot, this wasn't the case, even though it was only 11 degrees or so when I went out this morning. Of course, my Hotronics helped, but that's what they're for.

Anyway, so far, so good.
