I feel like I'm a Wii behind

In recent days, I've read about or talked to folks who have a Wii.
My friend, who swore she would never have a video game in her house
My sister who has everything
Lola, who got one for her birthday
My Fitness instructor, who has the Wii Fit...........

I have not had any desire to get a Wii, but all the talk has me curious.........what am I missing?

Oh, you're not missing THAT much. I am not a video fiend, and my kids' aren't, but we have a Wii anyway lol. And a Wii fit.

Maybe it's me, but no matter what it is, I don't find it enjoyable playing video games for any great length of time (too much stuff to do in life to sit and do something so mindless...I'll take a nap or read People magazine with my mindless time lol).

The Wii fit is cool though. Except of course, when it termed me 'obese' (technically I am) it plumped out my Mii to match - errrrr.... Anyway - it gives you analysis (BMI) and you can set it up to have workouts and track them. Like 'big brother' in a video game lol. The games that come with the Wii are good though - not a total waste of time. I did some strength excercises and I did feel it (which may say more for my shape and condition than the ability of the wii lol). It also has yoga, running, hula hooping, balance test, etc... It cracked me up when I did a balance test and it said "do you find you trip alot?"! What's good about the strength excercises is it shows you your balance and center so you can adjust your stance to be in perfect balance while doing it.

We also have the Wii ski game which the kids love. Have only tried it once myself.

You can get some great games to go with it - my kid's have Dance Dance Revolution which works up a sweat.

I am not a tv person and definately not a video game person, but I adore Wii Fit! It's a great way to stay active in between workouts, and the balance games are great. I like to vary between the four types of options (aerobic, yoga, strength, and balance) and always do at least 30 minutes of recorded "fit" time before quitting for the day. It's a little annoying to have to scroll through the talking and I think the program is obsessed with having low BMI, but I love it.

We have DDR too, and that's fun although not as much for me (I need to practice more).

I got a Wii this past spring, mainly so I could get the Wii Fit.

I'd rather spend an hour playing Wii than watching TV. The Wii is interactive, not mindless button-pushing like other video games. At first I didn't see what the big deal was either, but when I got one it was..."oh!"

Plus, my husband likes the computer games. With the Wii, we can play games together. Except for Mario Kart. Somehow he seems to beat me every single time. :mad2:

If I don't want to ride my exercise bike, I'll pull out the Wii Fit and do some boxing, or skiing, or hula hoops. A nice way to break up the routine and do something different.

We don't have one, but I really want it for Wii Fit and the skiing game that works with it. I like how it's much more interactive than previous video game consoles. My brother has one and I've watched him play (yes, it was actually entertaining to watch him play! :D) but I have not used one yet. He got it for Christmas last year; maybe we'll get one this year?

I got H one for xmas the year before last (yes, the first year they were out...THAT was fun, trying to find one ). It's the hit of every family get-together. Bowling, especially. I love Mario Kart, too. I haven't gotten too much opportunity to play on it, and I'm definitely not a big gamer, but it's a LOT of fun!

My 'kids' are getting one for christmas. we got the Wii fit as well,a nd i am excited to try that, and i want to get the wii ski. i have played a few games, done some of the training 'games' too and i enjoy it. i like it much better than regular video games. it's extremely interactive. i'll give you my experienced opinion after cmas though!

I'd much rather mindlessly quest away on some online worlds.. I'm currently a lvl 22 brightwizard in Warhammer online.... LOL

Okay.. i'm a total geek I know

The past week or so, I've been thinking about getting the wii fit. Wii ski and golf both sound like tons of fun!

I am so not a video game person. Never even played one til my daughter's (now) husband got a wii. Omigod, is it fun! I could easily see having this. Love the tennis, bowling, ski racing and ski jumping. It really is a blast. I may just have to break down and get one, one of these days.

Last night I was pretty exhausted, as I have been for the past few days (not enough time to catch up on sleep). I was laying around and at about 8:45, decided to do some Wii Fit. After 30 minutes of fit time (hula hoop, step, yoga, strength, and a few balance games), I felt energized and stretched, and wound down for the night. Love it!

Okay, so I'm a video game player. Never thought I would be, but 4 years ago I met my DBF and got hooked to the Xbox and now own my own. I'm a member of the largest ALL GIRLS/WOMANS Clan called the PMS clan--Pandora's Mighty Soldiers. Our mission is to provide a safe and fun environment for woman to play games without having to deal with the harassment that can come along with it on online game play.

Just like we promote "ski like a girl"... PMS promotes "play like a girl". Getting together online with other woman to strategize and play is very fun, and not mindless at all. It's also great conversation~!

Anyway, regarding the Wii. My niece has one, and loves it. My mother just recently moved it from her bedroom to the living room and they play together. I have Wii Ski here at home ready to give her for Christmas, and they'll be getting Wii Fit as well, once we can find it around here!!

It's a really fun system. You can certainly feel that you did something afterward, even just playing games like bowling or baseball, you feel the movements, and feel your muscles working.

Definately a thumbs up!!

Loving our Wii and Wii Fit - I'm really enjoying getting set for ski season using the Ski balance game.

I'm also doing the boarding balance game as I'm going to give that a shot this year and want to get the feel down ... so far so good!

Everyone else is lying around the house after a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner that Phil made . . . . but ,me? I'm virtually skiing with Wii Skii because I can't make it to the real slopes today. Wee!

See, I'm not a video game lover, but I think I could get into Wii.........hmmmmm.

See, I'm not a video game lover, but I think I could get into Wii.........hmmmmm.

And it's easy to see why you could. For instance, yesterday, before dinner, my sister and my niece fired up the Wii and just played a short game. Nothing to serious or engrossing, just a quick game of fun.

I think you'd like it!

Last night after dinner, my brother-in-law fired up the Wii. I couldn't convince DH to leave until nearly 11PM... now he's talking about getting one. Yes, it's addictive.

I guess I need to get one too. My husband has been asking for a year. But, I have had a good no video game rule going. Now, I might have to give in.
