I'm now debating whether to bring the Blaze 86 to Crested Butte on Tuesday. The resort where I'm staying "tells me" that there is plenty of snow on the ground and all lifts are running, but it will definitely be spring conditions (so icy in the morning and afternoon slush).
Now thinking of bringing the older Sheeva 9's and getting them tuned instead of the new Blaze's.

Great info. I might get these as a second pair that’s less wide than my current ones. Anyone know how they do in Tahoe snow?
As I said in the post, I did test the blaze a few years ago in tahoe during the spring. So heavy Sierra cement spring conditions. I was on the 163 range length. (Can’t remember specifically) and although I called the blaze “zippy” I did get pushed around or beat up by the snow, and then switched to the volkl kenja 88 and was able to plow right thru. I ended up buying the kenja but then swapped them out the following year for the163? 4FRNT 91 that ski shorter and have a bit more flex in the bumps. Theses are now my groomer zoomer skis geared towards tahoe springs conditions.
