Have you heard about Hand in Hand? It's going to be a big TV fundraiser tonight for hurricane relief. All the major networks will be carrying the show at 8pm ET, plus will be replayed at 8pm PT on the west coast. The organizers have connected to Comic Relief, which is a 501c3 that's been around for a few years. It was set up for Harvey. But has been extended to include Irma as well. The FAQ on the Comic Relief website is pretty thorough.

The total so far for Hand in Hand is $44 million. A few corporations covered the costs of producing the show.

Donations are still being accepted on the Comic Relief website.

From the FAQ:

Q) Which charities will benefit from the telethon?

A) Benefitting charities include the Rebuild Texas Fund, United Way of Greater Houston, United Way Irma Recovery Fund, Habitat for Humanity, Save the Children, Feeding Florida, Feeding Texas, Direct Relief, The Mayor’s Fund for Hurricane Harvey Relief (administered by the Greater Houston Community Foundation), ASPCA and Best Friends Animal Society.

Comic Relief USA, the non-profit organization behind Red Nose Day and Idol Gives Back, is responsible for collecting donations and overseeing the distribution of monies raised during the fundraiser to beneficiaries to ensure funds raised provide direct impact to communities affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.
