Hula Hooping

Briski

Ski Diva Extraordinaire
I took up Hula Hooping a couple years ago. We have a nice, sunny, deck with street and mountain views. I’ve been cooped up with a cold feeling stiff and sorry for myself, so stepped out for a hoop. I felt my entire core loosen and straighten up, and my mood lightened as I soaked sun and views. I’m certain the passing drivers find something amusing about an overweight 50 y.o. woman hula hooping. I’ve gotten pretty good in one direction and am working on the other. Using my arms instead of my waist gives a nice little shoulder workout. Today I realized that, just like skiing, if I’m looking down things go poorly. Looking down puts me in the back seat. limits the range of motion of my core, and I will drop the hoop.

I also think they are the bomb for teaching itty bitty ones.
