Question: How often do you wax your skis?

I need to talk to the Rossi tech/Sidecut guy about it for sure. Bases are pretty hard, so I'm not saying that the chemcial doesn't go into the base, but how far. And if you fix with P-tex, what happens.

I love waxing and a quick sharpen. It's theraputic and usually involves people who want it done and don't have a clue, helping me and making sure I don't hit the beverage glass.

Well, this is interesting, off their website:

PHANTOM will work with both sintered and extruded bases. We expect PHANTOM will last 1-2 base grinds on extruded bases before the benefits start to subside.

I probably do 2 base grinds a season, so....now to check the base material on my skis.

@Jilly you're not the average skier.
Phantom will last for several years for most skiers, and though someone with Phantom may want to hit the bases with "temperature specific" wax from time to time, Phantom is like a good average wax.

For @cholinga We hot wax our skis a few times a year and use Toko Liquid Parafin between hot waxes, usually each day depending on the surface conditions. Obviously powder won't affect the wax much but course or man-made snow may strip the wax off in a short time.

Apologies if this has been discussed before; I ran a quick search but couldn't find a recent thread. Just wondering how often everyone waxes their skis? I didn't pay my skis the attention they deserved until I fell in love with my current daily drivers (K2 Mindbender 89Ti W). Since I've been paying attention, I've found that my bases go white/dry after most ski days, and find myself needing to wax them between nearly every ski day. Granted, I go pretty hard most days I take them out, but it still feels like the need for fresh wax is a bit too frequent. I've switched to using an infrared waxer which helps a lot time-wise, but is still a bit of a drag.

Does anyone else have this issue?
When skiing manmade snow, a quick rub and buff every day. On all natural, if its wet or coarse, every day. Drier snow, every other day. Depends how many hours i ski.
