Question: How do I choose?

I'm getting ready to buy skis. I demoed several last year at Mammoth, and my favorites were K2 Burnin' Luv and Nordica Firefox. I'm 5'4", 125lbs, and I tend to ski in southern CA, mostly Mammoth. I like the black diamonds, but I ski them carefully, and spend most of my day on blue-blacks where I feel more comfortable being aggressive. I'm ready to be more aggressive on the blacks though.

I want to buy last year's skis 'cause price is an issue, but I haven't been able to find either of my favorites locally. Locally, I found the Nordica Victory, and the Volkl Attiva Luna, both in 154. I demoed the Victorys but only in 162, and I found them too hard to turn on the blacks, though it was easy on the less difficult groomed trails. I'm not sure how much of my problem was the length, and how much was the ski. I've never skied the Lunas, but I remember absolutely hating the Volkl I did demo (It was black and silver, with metal in the frame, the name escapes me.)

So are the Lunas or Victorys comparable to the Burnin' Luvs or Firefoxes? Are there other skis I should be looking for that would be more comparable? Should I give up on buying from a store and just hit Ebay?

If you like the burning luv, do NOT go to the Luna, try the Fuego instead,
The luna is not a front side carver,
I tried both and the Fuego made my heart sing, one of my best friends (and comparable skier) hated the Fuego and loves the Burning Luv.
It truly is style, taste and finesse that can make you pick a ski
If you can still demo I'd say try the Nordicas-- they are getting a lot of good response.
Also, you don't have to buy locally, look on-line
O2gearshop is where I got my new friends at a great discount.

Yeah, I was going to say, there is nothing with skis that should keep you from searching out a better price online. They're not like boots where you need a bootfitter to keep working with.

I see the Backcountry.com outlet has the Burnin Luv for $472.50.
