Hoping for some good mp3 ideas

when i posted this on snowheads i got some great ideas and even a 45 minute mix tape from Stab (which is perfect for the gym!)

so girls - what do you listen to on your mp3 player when skiing, does the music affect your style and does the music vary for different runs and stuff?

I like;
prodigy, linkin park, motorhead, limp bizkit when i'm feeling confident and adventurous

Or i like moby, fugees, michale buble when i want a nice calm roide (on purpose! as in roide, sally roide!)

I like to listen to fast, thumping music when on the mountain. Even when I'm taking it sort of chill, I need to stay upbeat otherwise I get lazy!

I'm with you on the Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit. I also like Orgy and Disturbed when it comes to rock. Then on the rap side I like Jay-Z, Kanye West, Eminem and Pitbull. But I absolutely love house/trance music like Benni Benassi, and ATI, and eurodance like Bob Sinclar. Rhianna has some great dance songs that get your energy going too.

The Chemical Brothers - "Galvanize" is a great song, as well as "Come Around" and "Bamboo Banga" from M.I.A.. They're on my running mix as well.

Anything I can sing to:
Incubus, Matchbox 20/Rob Thomas/Tabitha's Secret, Alien Ant Farm, Modest Mouse, Finger 11, Linkin Park, Blue October and any of the Canadian bands (Nickleback, Theory, Default, Puddle), among lots of others.

Before racing I get a little grittier:
Disturbed, Tantric, Days of the New, Godsmack, Staind, Powerman 5000.

Oddly enough though I never listen to anything this old when doing other stuff, my very faves for skiing are 80's stuff:
The big hits from Fine Young Cannibals, Escape Club, Tone Loc, Rockwell, plus Baha Men's Who Let the Dogs Out (I love that song and sing it at the top of my lungs while jammin' on the steep stuff  )

You know you're getting old when you don't recognize most of the names of the bands you just listed .... And I have teenagers !!
Queen sheba it's cool that you can go from LinkinPark to Michael Buble....I was thinking about some more tunes for my mp3 player....I am more of a classic rock lover....tunes from Aerosmith and Boston, but I love some of the new stuff too. I really like the Chili Peppers and Coldplay.....

I've actually got a separate playlist for every type of ski day, depending on the type of turns I want to be making:

Fat Turns;Pow Days - Hip/Hop (Atmosphere, Blackalicious, Jurassic 5, P.O.S., Swollen Members, Random Rab, Black Eyed Peas)

Cruising/Chill Sunny Days - Reggae, Folksy (Marc-Andre' Belliveau, Bob Marley, Bedouin Soundclash, Citizen Cope) or Journey! (My guilty pleasure)

Fast Bulletproof Days - Fast and Loud (Daft Punk, AFI, The Sounds, Shiny Toy Guns, Bouncing Souls)

And tons of 80s music thrown inbetween! I'm a sucker for The GoGos, Belinda Carlisle, The Bangles, The Outfield, The Cure ......

I don't listen to music while I'm skiing. I like my full focus on the run! also, I prefer to hear people coming down behind me.:fear:
