Help needed for ski demo/purchase

I am so excited I found this forum with such helpful people. I even learned about SAC!

So I was wondering if someone could help me figure out which skis I should demo and then ultimately purchase.

I am 5'3" 145lbs. I usually ski blues/reds in france and blues out west. I do live in the east so occasionally I'll go to vermont. I do like to go fast but I am not super agressive.

Right now I am leaning towards trying the K2 true luvs or one luvs. 146 or 153? I am not really sure.

Any advice?

Thanks!

Definitely the 153s, or you might even try the 160s. And you might also like to try something in the Dynastar Exclusive line. Their women's skis perform very well.

I would say definitely get 153s. The 146s will be way too short for you - I'm 5'3 125ish and have been skiing TrueLuvs in 153 for the past 2 seasons - I'm an advanced intermediate in my 4th season of skiing this year. As for which model you should get... Well the new TrueLuvs (mine are the 05/06 model which had a 69mm waist) have the advantage of being a slightly fatter ski over the OneLuvs. The One Luvs are a bit stiffer. I love the True Luvs because they "empower me"... they've been great to advance on because they really reward good technique but are still somewhat foregiving. Overall Id say if you could demo one of them to see if you liked it that would be great. If not I don't think you would hate either.

Definitely demo if you can.
Consider The Fischer Vision Breeze on your demo list,
As well as the Nordica Olympia Drive.

I really enjoy the Nordica line up of women skis, even more so than the K2 line up.

It's a pretty good era for women's skis, it seems like a lot of manufacturers have stepped up up their game. I'd go with skis in the 153 range if I were you. Can you try the True Luvs and the One Luvs back to back? I'd also check out the Fischer Vision Exhale and Breeze and Dynastar Exclusive 9 or 10 (I haven't been on the 10, speaking from what I've seen/read). Another that I haven't been on but from reviews think you should take a look at is the Elan Wave Magic. Maybe Elangirl can chime in on that one?

Isn't SAC great?
