Help! Binding mounted upside-down!

OK, this may only be an aesthetic problem because the skis in question are Line Anthem twin-tips.....perfectly symmetrical tip and tail. The graphics on the skis extends across both skis and is the same on the tip and tail so maybe I could see how a tech got mixed up.

I didn't notice until I got them home. I emailed one of the shop people that I know to tell them. But what should I do? What would you do if you were me?

It's kind of a bummer because it's a neat graphic that now is disrupted because one ski is flipped around.....:(

I would assume that the shop would want the opportunity to make it right for you.
You should definitely follow up and let them know about the error.

Yeah, just because the graphics are the same and they APPEAR perfectly symmetrical, I would assume that there is a true front and back to the ski and you need to get this fixed. Hopefully, you got the skis from them, and you can get them to give you a NEW SET OF SKIS and not redrill to fix the problem.

I contacted one of the shop managers via email (they were closed last night) and told them. I'm assuming they'll find a way to make it right - they are a good shop. I have a good relationship with one of their managers...she's used my testimonials on their website so I hope she'll take care of me!

I didn't get the skis there:( because they didn't carry that one from Line, but they are a Line dealer and I've bought my other Lines there, plus all my bindings.

This particular ski MAY be truly symmetrical in structure front to back, (it's a true center-mount park ski) so it's possible it's only a cosmetics problem. But still......

Since this is a shop you use, I'm sure they will work something out, even if it means that they redrill the 'wrong' ski and give you a store credit for your inconvenience.

Most shops will do something. Good shops will take care of you!

I experienced the same thing with my Salomon 180s. It turns out these skis are supposed to have the bindings mounted this way. My bindings are exactly in the middle of the ski, to make backwards landings and switch skiing easier. Both skis are shaped exactly the same tip and tail. The two skis match each other perfectly, shape wise, just not graphics wise. The bindings are mounted so that the graphics on the top are exactly opposite each other, with what's on the tip of one ski is on the tail of the other. This was a "cool" idea generated by Salomon. I know this because the graphics on the BOTTOM of the skis match each other. They say "Salomon" in the same direction.

So when we have these skis on I think we are supposed to consider ourselves amongst the cool ones.

No.
She has twin tip skis that appear to be symetrical from tip to tail no matter which way you have them mounted, but definitely have graphix that go together so you should have them matched up when mounted.

For some reason the shop tech mounted one with the tip being the tip and the other with the tail being the tip, so the graphix don't line up.

However, it is possible that the Appearance of a symetrical ski is just an appearance, but the base and construction may be different, "tip to tail". At any rate, she is dealing with a reputable shop and is giving them a chance to make it right.

My skis ARE symmetrical tip to tail, in dimension as well as in construction. I think it's one of the only skis out there with the same flex pattern tip and tail. The shop manager contacted me and they will remount the ski while I wait. I did not purchase the skis there (it was an online sale purchase).

If I have any future problems with the ski she told me they will take care of it. It is a very good family-run shop and they do take care of their customers. I'm going to get them remounted tomorrow....my ski area is semi-closed for the season.....they have a "hikable" terrain park open in the evenings....so I will go and play there on them this week.
