Looking of a new jacket and pants. Currently HH is running a sale. Not quite 1/2 off, but close enough. They have a corporate store a Tremblant. But only 2 colours in a jacket I'm thinking about. White (hell no) and navy blue. The navy blue L is tight. They have the XL in white, but absolutely NOT. I can order on line at the same price.

But how warm is an insulated jacket and/or pants from HH?

I have a HH jacket and pants, but the ones I have are more of a light insulation and not my warmest insulated options for very cold days. I don’t know enough about their whole line though to know if there are more insulated options but I’d imagine it’s a possibility for the jacket at least. I do find them very comfy and they wear well.

I couldn’t do white either, so don’t blame you there!

I have a WHITE hi-tech style super warm HH jacket (only color available) that's 10 years old and has held up brilliantly. I wear it with a hooded base layer and a highly recommended Arc'teryx sweater. The design of the insulation (padded areas) traps and channels the warm air and vents enough to eliminate sweat. I've skied in crazy windy, well below zero (fahrenheit) and was kept comfortable and warm. I love the way it zipped to cover my lower face and it has vent holes for the breath moisture to escape. Highly recommend. I can't imagine they're less awesome now. But, yeah, white. Terrible color for skiing, especially storm skiing. I wear bright pants and a teal helmet to hope I stand out. I don't get to wear it often because it's too warm for powder skiing.

I have the HH Powderqueen jacket 2.0 from 6 ish years ago. I think it has 40 grams of insulation in body and less in the arms. If it's over 32 degrees F, I only need a smart wool base layer and I am perfectly warm. If it's colder, I will add either a fleece and/or a down vest. The jacket is very good at funneling hot air up the back and out to keep you from overheating and getting sweaty.

HH is a huge disappointment to me: I love the style but I can never fit properly in any of their jackets!

That’s a bummer! I love them because I have very long arms and so do their jackets, always stinks when a brand doesn’t work as I have many of those too.

I do have 3 HH jackets but only one of them fits comfortable. The other 2 are a bit snug now - I gained 8 lbs - but not so snug that I would buy a L. I’m between sizes, I guess.
The looser one is more lightly insulated but much warmer than it seems. I like the option to add or remove layers.
