Have pass will go to Heavenly & add to the party ! abc's right - Gunbarrel - The Face. And I'm told the tree skiing is awesome. But I haven't been back since the snow hit last week. Should finally have some good snow coverage finally. You get to ski in two states ! Lake Tahoe has lots of parties to offer!

Nah, didn't miss your winky - I know it's called THE FACE , but which "Face "did you make the first 100 feet ?! Yeah , took me that long also. Yep, gotta take in the view on that one, whether you want to or not !

The whole lake is beautiful. I really don't get to spend the night there much. Every few years. But I have always enjoyed the view from Harrahs upper rooms. They often run specials &/or ski specials. But you really have ton's to chose from. And check the calendars to see if there is a good concert or show playing during the time you will be there.

I recommend Harvey's or Harrah's for your hotel; nice rooms, food and bars, and consistently good value for money. Montbleu is where everyone's heading these days for clubs, chic stays. Take a wander around the mini-village in town at night, near the new gondola; fun people-watching and you can find out where the party is that night (it moves). Ski the Nevada side for the black diamonds. Our snow has been perfect everywhere I've gone this year, and we've got the deep finally. If you can get to Kirkwood, you won't be disappointed.

You may want to check the snowbomb card for deals at Harveys? There is one Diva that uses that for discounts I believe. She'd answer up I'm sure, but is off & skiing for a week or so elsewhere.

Welcome!

The casinos have decent rooms. I've stayed at Montbleu (it used to be Caesars. It is the nicest.) and at the Horizon. Harveys and Harrahs are also there.

Normally I just stay in a cheap motel. South Lake has dozens of run down motels. These are dumpy, extremely dumpy. If you want cheap, I'll elaborate as I've stayed in many of them, but if you're here on vacation, I don't recommend them.

I've only skied Heavenly once. It has very nice views.

I hope you have a great time!

I've stayed at the Forest Suites, which is in the new gondola general area (which wasn't yet built last time I was there). It had the advantage of being in the casino territory but just enough off the beaten path to be a bit quieter. And definitely DO make the trip to KIRKWOOD. Wound up being my All Time Favorite Place Ever. Anywhere.
