Heated Boot Bag Recommendations Needed

CStone

My heated boot bag of 10 years finally died. In looking online at heated ski boot bags, many are quite large and appear to be designed for ski racers. I would appreciate your recommendations for moderately sized heated ski boot bags that work, have comfortable starps and would fit in an overhead bin on an airplane. Thank you!!

KULKEA. Great product. It is rather large, so I won't wear it. And it will not fit into most lockers available at resorts. But for those of us that boot at the car it is awesome

I'm going to experiment with the Kulkea Thermal Trekker this season. Just did a trial run going to Big SNOW (indoor slope in NJ). It's definitely heavier and bulkier than the Transpack Sidekick I've been using for years. There is insulation and the wiring that adds to the weight. I would need help to get it into an overhead bin in a plane. I've read that style of boot bag will fit without the helmet.

I'm petite and can carry the Thermal Trekker. Helps a lot to use the hip strap.

I have the Trekker bag (not heated) and it barely fit in the overhead (without helmet) bin on both a Southwest flight and a United flight. It is super cumbersome and I only use it when traveling to Tahoe by car. It's great for boot/sock/dryers storage as well as gloves, hats, goggles (great little outside pocket).
For flights, I now use the Sportube bag with wheels.

Technically it's well outside of the carry-on size limits which are approx. 22" x 14" x 9" (may vary slightly based on the airline). From a quick glance at Kulkea's page, the Thermal Trekker is 20" x 14.5" x 18". While I've pushed the limits of carry-on bags by an inch or two, I would be pretty hesitant to risk 9" (which is doubling the capacity of the bag) over the limits and then have to check it.

Sorry, no real advice from me on carrying on boots with a heated boot bag. I use a Kulkea Kayda for travel, and love it....but it's not heated.

Could be that what I read was about a closed boot bag that wasn't heated.

There is a thread from last season with tips for flying with skis and boots. But I can't remember the thread title or what forum it was in.
