Hats for sun protection

Yeah, that's part of my question on the topic. I'd like to avoid touching it but not sure it will do what I want.
Would a sun stick work better for not having to touch it?
Other off the wall suggestion - my mother uses a makeup brush (designed for application of liquid foundation) for sunscreen reapplication when she is mountain biking, so that she doesn't need to remove her gloves.

Those are good ideas. Thanks.

Yeah the Unseen version of supergoop is literally a clear gel. I don't think it would be possible for it to leave white streaks. But they do have a wide range of other products.
Unseen is great!

Wallaroo is having a sale on blooper hats.
These look to be hats with slight imperfections for a really reasonable price.

@Susan L I finally took the plunge and got a Wallaroo hat.
I signed up for notices of sales and got the email about a month ago so when I searched, I saw the blue Gabi was on closeout and I snagged one.
The brim is a little smaller than the off brand hat I had and the Gabi sits a bit higher on my head but that's not a bad thing because I like how it allows more room for my sunglasses. I think this may be my new favorite golf day purchase.

My favorite golf hats continue to be from Vimhue… this is due to how light and airy they are in addition to the ponytail/bun area giving more options for how you want to utilize it. I am not as big of a fan of regular baseball caps that force you to have your hair in a specific place which is usually lower than I like. I have two of the Vimhue baseball cap style hats from a couple of courses I’ve been to and wear them often. I sweat so much when it gets hot and humid in the summer here, so the extra light fabric is just fantastic! It’s so much grosser and hotter to sweat through a heavy hat.

So I finally decided to try the Vimhue bucket hat as well. It has the same ponytail/bun type of area and is also said to be very light and airy. So here’s hoping I like it just as much as the baseball caps I have from them and can get the extra sun coverage as well. I did go back and forth on the color a lot… and ultimately went with the black. Hoping it’s not terribly warmer than the lighter colors, but I just didn’t really want another white hat and didn’t care for the other options as much. So we’ll see how the black does. I wish they’d come out with some brighter bucket hat options, they have a TON of great colors in the baseball cap versions but not so much with the bucket hats. I’d love a darker brighter pink or some fun prints.

Should be here next week… have I mentioned how much I hate slow shipping? Lol Amazon has ruined me for stores that take a more “normal” amount of time for delivery…

That’s really cute. Not a golfer but cute beach hat

I finally for my new Vimhue bucket hat yesterday, snail mail…

It’s super cute! Great size brim where it’s not overbearingly large and therefore won’t be a distraction on the course, but obviously a lot more sun protection than a regular cap. I’ll try to remember to take a picture the first time I wear it on course.

It’s nice and light, the strap for your neck to hold it on in wind is also removable with little clips. Very packable. The smaller size fits me perfect, I have a pretty small head. I do like the black, but still wish they had some brighter colors available in the bucket hats besides white, beige, and pastels.

This thread caught my eye for the first time, as I'm trying to figure out how to not get incinerated by the sun next month at the Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremony Cooperstown NY. It is so famously hot and humid for this thing. I can't understand why they hold it in late July. Anyway. Maybe a big sun hat or a sun protection umbrella might help.

But it's the sun shirt discussion that is making me comment. I'm such a convert. Once I hit 50 I started looking at my arms and boy was the age visible. It's really easy to imagine how much worse it could get too. I revoked my arms' sun privileges and started wearing sun shirts, the Outdoor Research Echo Hoodie in particular. It is so much easier to throw on a sun hoodie for a dog walk or gardening than it is to diligently coat myself with sunscreen. It's especially great for those times when I think, oh, I'm only going to be out for 10 minutes watering the blueberries, but then a neighbor walks by and stops to chat, or I start pulling weeds or whatever.

Wore the Vimhue bucket hat for the first time yesterday, loved it! Feels light and I like that it gives great protection but is compact and not distracting on your head while playing. I have another bucket hat I like for travel too, but it’s very floppy so I didn’t feel it would be good for golf swings. This one stays put and the brim doesn’t flop around even though it is very packable when off your head. I removed the strap as it wasn’t windy, it felt very secure on my head. Not sure I’d like a strap for golf in general due to the aforementioned chance for distraction and hitting myself in the face while swinging… but I would use it elsewhere if it were windy. It comes on and off of the hat very easily.

@MissySki cute.
I remember finding a big sun hat at DSW or someplace like that with a ponytail port. It was so cute but also not good for anything active like golf, hiking or the like.

Your hat is pretty perfect.

I still love my Gabi hat that @Susan L turned us on to

I wear this to protect my chest, shoulders and arms when I wear short sleeves/sleeveless to golf. Easy to carry around and I can add it to anything I wear.

That's cute. I have about 5 of their SPF tops for the beach and riding bikes.

I love that idea and those are super cute, but dang, I run hot (not sexy hot) and am not sure I could adapt to that.

It is really not that hot because the layer covers what is usually exposed. On very hot days, I wet the sleeves to cool off more. I also have the version that is a shawl but my chest gets burnt.
