Has anyone tried Full Tilt Boots?

I was wondering because I am finally going to buy myself new boots next week.

Full Tilts are not available in Canada yet and I would have to take a drive to Ellicotville NY (3.5hrs)

I was wondering if anyone knows how they fit, I'd hate to make the drive just to find that they won't fit my foot well.

I have a narrow heel, high instep and a slight pronation of an otherwise regular forefoot.

Thanks in advance,
Sarah

Full Tilts use same molds as the late, great Raichle Flexon Comp. Somewhere on this site is a discussion, sorry I'm too impatient to find it. Flexons had a loyal following (including DH here) due to smooth flex and good fit - he had 2 back-to-back pairs and loved them.

Are you skiing with custom footbeds? Best rx for pronation, would also help instep. The bail buckles seemed to help out anyone with instep issues. Wish I could tell you more beyond the history, but any boot that had such a loyal following to the point where the actual molds were salvaged (Full Tilt is an off-shoot company of K2) has to be pretty good  ....long way to go for boots, though...

I haven't tried them personally, but was intrigued by the devoted following the Raichle boots had and now the Full Tilt ones. I've heard that they fit narrower feet better, and I've got bricks for feet (wide, with high instep) so I haven't been all that motivated to try them on--they're also kind of hard to find. Not too many shops carry them.

This is exactly why I'm considering the drive. All those people can't be wrong!

If you have a high instep, I don't think this is the boot for you. I wore the Flexon Comp for a few years and I can't see how the moulded tongue would work for a higher instep. I think conventional overlap is going to be better. Have you been to Sign of the Skier yet??

I have an extremely high instep and have the Dalbello krypton storm. I find they fit much better than any of the conventional overlap boots that I tried. If I could buckle a conventional boot over my instep, invariably they were too large in all other aspects. I've never tried on the Full Tilt, though.

Thanks for the input guys. I haven't been to SOTS yet, but I'm going to Squire John's Friday. Hopefully they'll have something there.

I'll definately try the Dalbello's tho.

Wow! As his mother-in-law, I can remember when he had the set up he listed. And to think he was just going to test out the Epic site!!!!

Ha ha, while researching Full Tilts on Epic, I found Phil's very first post.

If you do a bit more searching, you'll find that Phil endorses the Dalbello Krypton series in a huge way. You can look on this site and see my review of the Krypton storm, which I absolutely love, and my foot is very similar to what you describe yours to be.
Make sure to get the intuition liner, and also consider the Kryzma. The Kryzma is the stiffer version of the Storm.

Lil, that thread on epic gets bumped by people regularly when its picked up by google searches.
Mr FloA is in his glory every time it gets bumped.
Can someone get a pin, we may need to deflate his ego?
