In theory this sounds great - I would love to do this for other women who surf. However, I'm not sure they really have a large enough "expert" base to make it work right now. Seems that OP was given the names of some popular skis with lengths that might be appropriate for stated level of skiing. I think she will received better info from the Diva's as a collective
@Candebsna Since your at Mammoth here are my suggestions:
In the ideal scenario you would be able to head up on a "weekday" to get boots and skis dialed in.
1. Go to Footloose and work with Corty (sat) or Kevin (sun) (call for their days during the week but friday both should be there) to get properly fitted for boots - you can demo as many boots as you want in a day (its a pain to go back and forth from the mountain, but it is a rarity that you get to demo boots before you buy).
2. Demo skis in different lengths - the mountain usually has a good selection of skis for your ability level. (in fact most of the skis that were suggested for you). If you demo at the mountain you can switch up skis/ sizes all day long. (better to do this on a week day if you can).
3. Take a lesson or two (am group lessons with the add on hours is the best)
4. Spend the rest of your season lapping chair 12 to dial in your skills with out the crowd.
