Has anyone been following The Bachelorette? (spoiler alert)

I couldn't believe she picked Jesse! I was 99.9% positive she would have picked Jason. In all honesty, I am happy she picked who she did. With Jason there was more of an age gap, to me that was the biggest factor. However, Jason is too cute and his looks made me melt from day one

What do you guys think?

In case you weren't following the show: Jesse, 26, is a snowboarder and Jason, 31, is an account executive who was divorced and has one child.

I don't know, these Colorado dudes keep going all the way on the Bachelorette (Jesse and previously Ryan). I'm not sure I'm happy about that though, it's reducing the fish in the pond for me. But, last week when they did the reunion show I could tell by the look on her face that she was beyond happy. I'm surprised it is Jesse but happy to see that she followed her heart and not what people expected.

While I have never watched the Bachelor series before, and happened to watch a bit of the beginning of the episode tonight, I got curious and read some episode recaps. I read that Jesse said he would give up snowboarding for this chick?

Hmm, let's see, a 26 year old snowboarder based out of Breckenridge, CO? Could it be that more than one who fits this description once battled over the same woman, circa 2005? I am admittedly biased. Hard feelings still remain, 3+ years later, on the OTHER snowboarder's part.....whose side I am compelled to take. At least this show now takes JSAK OUT of the running....

I happily know whose freeride and freestyle skills are better. He might as well give it up for her. He was also once quoted that he was, at one time, the only certified instructor and simultaneously competitive pro. Wrong again.

Wow. Small world. I don't even watch the Bachelor/Bachelorette, but based on photos alone, I'd go for the other dude. He kinda looks like Rob Lowe, without the sordid history (hopefully!).

DeAnna's dad brought up a good point last night, he asked once Jesse got older or if something ever were to happen to him, what would he have to fall back on (job wise). I think her dad makes a really good point. How is he going to support her? I know he's only 26 and has many years of snowboarding ahead of him, but what if something were to happen to happen and he wasn't able to snowboard?

In his own way, he is cute though

...And I did hear that he would give up snowboarding for her.

But what about her? She said she HATES the cold winter months. How is this going to work?


p.s. --- did anyone ever think about if she were to choose Jason? He has a child, do you think she would be ready for that?

First of all, the guy makes some serious money with endorsements, etc., has his own full non-profit organization (JSAK), and owns at least 2 properties in Breckenridge ($$$$). Didn't you get a load of the unbelievable "product placement" every time he was on camera (Zero Gloves, Bonfire clothing, sunglasses - unsure of mfr - hats, etc.)? I've heard from inside sources that it's a low 6 figure income.

Anyone see the tv listings for next week? "The Engagement Party" is next week, same time as the series was.

Does no one else here see the huge publicity machine wheels turning? Wonder how much some of those sponsors paid him for network tv exposure of some of those products....... Anyone who knows advertising knows this is some serious revenue. How interesting that NONE of the other "Bachelors" got to promote products or their place of business like this....

If she does decide to learn how to ride, I seriously hope she finds herself a REAL Level III AASI certified instructor. I happen to know a rather adorable and struggling one in approximately the same line of work as JSAK (nickname), with a MUCH cuter nose, who has occasionally outspun him in the halfpipe while both were in it. At Breck.

I didn't see DeAnna's turn on The Bachelor and wasn't intending to watch her on The Bachelorette, but I got sucked into the first episode and that was that

I tried not to get too peeved at comments on the Bachelorette boards regarding Jesse being a pro snowboarder, from people who apparently are unfamiliar with that world and don't think too highly of it for various reasons. As if he's going to be a pauper because all he does is "just snowboard" and doesn't have any other interests--guess they missed the mention of his non-profit org too.

Regardless of how much money he makes off endorsements etc, I admire that he's living his passion and teaching others--that makes him "rich" in my book.
