WOW, you guys are the BEST!!!!!! I feel so remembered and happy. I am having the bindings mounted on the new Broom Stix as we type. Turns out the ski shop found me a pair of last year's model, NEW, which I am so happy about. I really hated the graphics, not that that would have been a deal-breaker, but I much prefer the older design, with less skull graphic motif. So the new 07 Broom Stix are yet to be skiied, but I am hoping to get in one or two more days this year. Am leaving for FLA Sunday for 4 days to see my mom, so if there is skiing to be done, it will be in April. The demos I tried (2008s) were unbelieveably stable on icey steeps, not something they are designed for. My feet were relaxed in the boots and the turn linkage was smooth and elegant. I even ripped with a lot less fear. The extra few cms. underfoot and perhaps the twin tips helped more than I had expected. Will report more when I actually get on them again.

Thanks again for the BDay wishes. Ski on, Ladies!

You should look into the possibility of getting out to Abasin for the Diva weekend on Mothers day weekend!
Whats better for Mothers day than a bunch of women getting together to do what we love to do!

I'm a new kid on the block, but noticed your monicker and birthday-similarities? I was born on Long Island 20th-first day of spring in a blizzard-should have been a warning to all! My goal this year was to ski ON my birthday-got close in NC-18th. Anyway, hope you had a great one!

We're still celebrating! yay! I had no idea there was a snow storm at the time of my birth. (Oh, actually I just realized you may have been born way later than I.....maybe there was no snow when I was born in Kew Gardens). But, anyway, Thank you!!!!
Well, I will NOT be at ABasin on Mothers Day as I will be at sea on a 4 day cruise to celebrate Bob's sister's 60th birthday. We NEVER do cruises,as why would anyone do anything other than ski in the winter? (So says Bob, and I mostly agree, but I could do one warm vacation, but never get to.....of well.) So we will be away probably drinking lots of coffee and lots of margaitas and gin and tonics. Should be fun.

On a more important note, skied my Broom Stix at Canon last sunday. Some packed powder over hard pack. Loved them. Turns out they are 2006 models which were called Wistas, not Broom Stix but, I was assured and reassured, they are the exact skis except for graphics. FUN!!!!!!!

I can tell you from multiple experiences that cruising is a ~great~ way to travel! No driving or parking, no packing to change locations, no reservations for restaurants, noooo hastles! Yet you can see new places nearly or every day! If you're afraid of the excess of wonderful food, that can be completely overcome by skipping the elevators unless you have luggage. Food can absolutelyl jump on me, but not with the "stair rule". Toast the Divas with a margarita! Where are you going?

I actually am not sure. Think it is Grand Turk Island. I have been to Turks and Caicos and loved it, but it was a land vacation. This will be great because it will be brother and sister and spouses and 4 daughters (2 each family) all together. Should be fun.
