Goggles - good in flat light

My husband is looking for a pair of goggles that are good in flat light. We don't know of any forums he could post this on (I know I have seen one mentioned here, but cannot remember what it is). Anyone know of a lens that really makes things "pop"? Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

I need a pair too and keep getting conflicting advice on this. Flat light is the norm here--I haven't seen sun yet this year and I get that vertigo where I can't even tell if I'm moving or not on a regular basis. I've been told the Oakley Hi Intensity yellow are the best selling goggle in WA state because they are the best for flat light. Others say no, I want a light rose/persimmon. I had a clerk yesterday tell me don't waste my money, nothing really helps in our flat light, stick with the amber that I already have. I hadn't heard anyone recommend those Smiths, so now I need to look into that...

*sigh*

There is also a long thread on epicski about this if you want to read people arguing about it.

Here is another vote for the Smith Sensor Mirrors. I live in Whitefish, MT and we mostly have flat light. I love these goggles. I bought Smith Ignitor mirror for sunny days--but they are decent for flat light too.

My husband swears by his Carrera Kimeriks. I've tried them on, and they really are a lot better than my Oakley Persimmon lenses. I'd buy a pair but the frames don't fit me, but might be fine for your hubby.

this is something I struggle with as well. Sometimes it feels as if my inability to see is really holding me back from charging down the hill. When I ride my bike in flat light I wear rose or yellow lenses, but of course I'm not staring down a field of white.

Since getting a helmet this season I only have one pair of goggles that I can wear.

My hubby uses the Alpina Challenge goggle, and loves it - he compares the visibility to his prescription polarized shades which is why he chose them.

After doing some more reading I went with the Smith Sensor Mirror recommended in this thread. I'm happy with them. I used them in the fog at Whistler and while I couldn't see definition in the snow that well, I didn't get dizzy like I often do in the fog, and the lack of definition strangely didn't bother me (so I guess the goggle was working?). It's hard to say, since I didn't have my old goggles in my pocket to compare, but I think the fact that I skied comfortably in bad light means they worked fine.

Another vote for the Smith Sensor Mirrors. We're skiing Crested Butte this week. The gorgeous wide trails are a killer in low light, especially for my husband. This morning he bought a pair of the Smith Senor Mirror goggles. He skied with them today and said they really helped.

which frame with Sensor Mirrors?

I saw that the Smith "Sensor Mirrors" are not the actual goggle, but the lenses. Which frame do you have?

I have some Oakley Stockholms with Hi-intensity yellow iridium lenses that work great for flat light. I got them for grey days and nights and love the lens; works just as I'd hoped. It's a woman's goggle, so a bit smaller in the frame. As it turns out I much prefer the fit of my Oakley Wisdoms. So now I'm watching for Wisdoms with HI yellow iridium to show up on SAC/Tramdock.

Right, these are the lenses for a variety of Smith goggles. I went with the Anthem, which are meant to be for women/smaller faces. I tried the Phenom on but they didn't work with my helmet (too big).

I just got the Anthems also, which are the first goggles I've found to fit well with my helmet. I have Smith Transits with the universal tint lens as well, which were given to be pre-helmet and they don't work as well with it, but I like them otherwise.

well, it looks like the Goggle Whore in me has been awakened. It started with these:

then moved on to these:

finally, something similar to these is on the way:
