Ski Diva Extraordinaire
I got a surprise demo day at my local hill Thursday!! I sat down at my computer in the morning and clicked on my local hill's web cam and the demo vans were all set up!! I jumped up ran out an tended to my horses and I was off!! I had a blast!
It was all of next year's skis. I skied a lot of skis.
Conditions: We are talking east coast spring conditions. In the morning it was still a bit firm in places but softening in the sun. As the day went on the snow just got softer and heavier.
My stats: I am 5'2" 120lbs. I have been a ski instructor for 26 years. I like slalom skis. I am not a GS ski fan. I can ski on anything but I have the most fun on slalom skis. Slalom meaning short turning skis. GS meaning long turning skis.
My first 2 skis of the day were the Fischer Vision Breeze and and Exhale both in a 145cm. I am going to write up my review of both of them together rather than apart, because they were similar enough that I don't want to repeat my self twice.
Fischer Vision Breeze in a 145cm; 118-74-104; 12 meter radius
Fischer Vision Exhale in a 145cm; 118-72-103; 12 meter radius
I had a blast on both of these skis!
They are so much fun to ski. They are both what I like to call "User Friendly" skis. Anything you ask them to do they do with a smile. They are both fast and stable at any speed. They both hold a great edge on ice. You can ski them on rails or just slide them around in wedge turns and everything in between. They will do any size or shape turn you ask at any speed.
Fischer skis are by far the best tracking skis I have ever skied. They track very true. You never have to think about making the inside ski track it just tracks true.
The changing snow conditions did not bother either of these skis, they both just kept turning with ease. I did take both of these skis back up at the end of the day in the deeper heavier snow and they were still great.
The only small difference that I noticed between them was the stiffness. They are both stiff skis as all fischers are. The Breeze is a bit stiffer and wider under foot than the Exhale. This made the Exhale a bit easier to bring around in short turns vs the Breeze I had to use a bit more energy.
I really loved both of these skis.
I skied a lot of skis but nothing compared to them. I was so glad to finally get to ski the Breeze in a 145cm because I had skied it before but it was always in a 155cm which is too long for me. I knew I liked it but I wanted to be able to really ski it.
One more thing they finally changed the top sheet on the Breeze, it is no longer that wierd brown. It is now black with grey graphics. The Exhale is now white with brownish graphics instead of blue. You will all love this. The Rep said they changed the blue on the Exhale because the men were shying away from buying it for their wives or girl friends.
