First measureable snowfall hits Colorado!

Yap... I climbed 2 14er's on Saturday and we could see Breck/A-basin/Keystone from the top... we saw the snow coming so we bolted. We were salivating at the top of that mountain. The same two 14er peaks we climbed Saturday were covered with 4-5 inches of snow the next day (so I heard). And on Monday morning, I got what I've been waiting for... that white dusting along the peaks that you can visibly see from the front range. There's nothing more beautiful than the view from Denver seeing the snow covered peaks! Bring it, bring it, bring it!
OH, and I'm doing a 6 mile run in Frisco tomorrow morning... the word on the streets (mountain 4wd roads?) is that it could be snowing on the trail (it's a trail run) and that things could get a little muddy. If that's the case I'll post up some nasty pics!!!

That late afternoon/evening snow front... they were one of the things that I loved most in Colorado. I am green with envy at the season that you guys are about to have... our is ending... the Aussie ski season started with a bang and left with a whimper... still got some great skiing in though. I must say that I miss the back runs over in Winter Park... when not alot of people are there and you can just cruise to your hearts content after 10" of snow the night before... god I am dreading summer.

Change happens
The weather never ceases to amaze me. We lost our mountain views back in July to 100 degree temps and smoke. The heat prevailed until about 4 days ago. Finally Saturday we got rain in the valley and after two months of sweltering heat I am wearing fleece and looking out at snow capped peaks. Literally in the 90's one day and then snowing the next. People went from air conditioning straight to the old wood stove and boy it feels good.
