Ski Diva Extraordinaire
Finally got my first day in this morning. Pathetically late; so many complicating factors in my life! But it was a great first day at Mt Hood Meadows. They are no-nonsense when it comes to masks, and apparently the word is out because everyone was complying. I stuck to easy terrain for the first day, venturing to blue before heading home. The snow was in pretty great shape for having withstood Chinook winds the last week or so. I was just thankful to be able to still do this! I started at age 48, 13 years ago, and I've been a major slacker this past year in terms of training (I'm totally blaming COVID) so having everything click right back into line was very reassuring. Also being able to assess instantly where I was not doing something right, and then correcting it and feeling the difference - this made me very grateful for my ski coaches. Sadly I won't be able to visit them in Utah this year - building a house means no disposable income LOL. Hoping they and their kids/granddaughter can come visit once my house is done and everyone is vaccinated.
