After one of the driest Novembers on record, we finally are getting some snow! I woke up this morning to about 4" on the ground, and it's still dumping pretty well. They say we should end up with about 5-10" in total out of this. Of course, sometimes we'll end up much higher than the totals NOAA quotes. Let's hope so! It was so depressing when they delayed the opening...with a good dumping maybe we'll be able to open this weekend!

:snow: :snow: :snow: :snow: Ain't it grand?

We got 12" of the fluffy stuff, and Telluride finally looks like she ought to this time of year.

Great picture! I am hoping the resorts in Utah open more fully here soon. I got sick of waiting, so we drove up to Wyoming today.

Ski season is starting!!!

Not quite getting dumped on here, but Boyne Mt opened yesterday. I'm heading up today to see what it feels like to ski in the 07-08 season.

Be still my heart...

The latest weekend forecast from NOAA for Telluride includes the following statement:

"SEE LITTLE REASON TO CONTINUE ON WITH THE WATCH AS WARNING LEVEL SNOWFALL WILL OCCUR WITH THIS STORM. POTENTIAL FOR OVER FOUR FEET OF SNOW NOT OUT OF THE QUESTION...ESPECIALLY FOR THE SOUTHWEST SAN JUANS..." :yahoo:

The estimates are all over the board at this point. I've heard anywhere from 4 to 12 inches for the Summit County mountains but then again when I left Denver the afternoon before the Blizzard of 2006 I was hearing 10-12 and look how that turned out. My only issue is I don't have a place to stay in the mountains tomorrow night so I need to be able to get back down.

True...looks like it'll vary a lot depending what area of the mtns you're at, with the most expected for the southern mtns (I'm hoping Crested Butte will get a good dump out of this-that's where I'll be next), and no one ever seems to get our weather right here...guess that's half the fun.:becky:
Either way, I hope you get down safely tomorrow!
