Fat-ypus E-Motions

Okay, that's just weird! I've been meaning to get a mention of these up this week but it just hasn't happened yet.

I skied these for 1 run on Saturday. The conditions for them were terrible with lots of ice and very crowded slopes. My take? The did very well when I hit some soft snow so I see a lot of potential for them but they weren't very good on the ice. I want to demo on a day when snow conditions are better for sure.

Thanks, Robyn. It doesn't surprise me that they'd be bad on ice. Were you on them long enough to be able to make any comparisons with more common skis?

Not really. I'd been skiing my Head Sweet Fat Thangs all day and the Heads definitely performed better in the given conditions but they are only an 89 waist so that didn't surprise me either. I've never skied any other skis of that kind of width so I can't really compare there. Can you demo them were you're at? Or maybe you just need to take a trip to Summit County to demo them here? :D

Alas, according to the Fat-ypus website their skis are only demo-able in five states - Utah not among 'em. That's why I've been poking around trying to find out something about E-Motions on the boards. I'm going to have to stick with one of the more common powder skis that I can try for myself, like the Kikus or Phat Luvs...
