Fat Skis For Kids

The past few years, we've all seen the increased value of Fat Skis. More recently there have been a few options added to the Jr Ski line up, such as:
Line Mini Invader
K2 Bad Seed
Volkl Mantra Jr

These skis are not marketed for the beginner, but more for the kid that is ready to rip but doesn't have the size to use the smaller adult skis just yet.

Has anyone seen these skis?

No, I haven't seen these wider kids' skis. The ski selection here in the East tends to be narrower, especially for women and kids. I would think that these wider kids' skis are of most use in Western conditions except for experienced kids who get out enough to ski in varied Eastern conditions.

I did buy my 11 year old a pair of K-2 Missy twin tips for regular use this season, and had them traditionally mounted. They are a 70 width and she's a beginner/intermediate skier. Besides being awfully cute skis, my research concluded that they were a very versatile ski that would help with turn initiation and that as I improve my skills skiing switch and taking low jumps and boxes in the park, she could follow me and have the equipment to do it.
