Excellent idea for bandaging

While recovering from meniscus tear surgery, I needed to ice the knee often. The gauze they put on initially is pretty bulky, and icing it isn't much of a problem.

But on the day when you're allowed to take all that bloody mess off and shower, rewrapping and icing the knee can be tricky without getting too cold.

I discovered that a 0-3 month onesie fits right over the whole shmear and keeps you from getting frostbite! Put your guaze pads on, slide the onesie bottom first over your foot and pull it up over the pads, wrap with an ace bandage, and enjoy the tidy little package. Comfort and stability!

Nope, no real reason for onsies in my house. Except maybe now, to keep humpty dumpty together.

great ice packs/heat pads

Actually disposable baby diapers with the 'gel' in them make great heat pads. Just moisten and put in microwave. Check temp prior to applying. The same diaper can be used again and again without being wet and sloppy. Same thing for icing, moisten a couple, put in freezer and rotate which one is in use and the other refreezing. Before throwing out, pull off plastic cover of diaper so it can break down faster.
