End of Season Festivities

How about your ski area on the last (or near to last days) of skiing.

Today at Alta, it was quite the costume parade. We saw skiing chickens, rabbits, wizards, fairies, speedos----

And the CORONA SIX PACK posed for this pic, especially for the SKI DIVA SITE. Aren't they cute?

All I could muster was a lame hawaiian shirt.....

My local ski areas are closed. The closest one that's still open is 3 hrs away (Mt. Snow, which I was there today and didn't see anything more interesting than an adolescent dressed as superman).

I didn't get any pics of the "Caribou Splash Cup". But there were a few good costumes, or lack of clothes period. Slalom course, 75 ft of water and a run through the village to the bar. Stops along the way to "fuel" the runner. Today was a taffy strip. Maple syrup on snow.
For us the last day also consisted of packing up and getting out of the condo.

Yesterday at Killington's pond skim I saw a "garden" (bunch of people dressed like flowers), a nude in only a grass skirt (that was fun on his downhill run toward the pond), and a few retro pink outfits. Friday eve in a local establishment featured a video of the host skiing in the raw with a back pack and just one glove, get this, duct-taped in front of his, um, package. It was pretty funny first getting the moon action then watching him ripping off the duct tape. OWWWW.

were you up at Soli for closing day? It was so much fun! I actually snuck on the lift for a few easy Eagle cruisers in my cast. We hung out in the parking lot until about 6:00 BBQ'ing and drinking beers. Sad to see this season go, but what a great day! I need to post some pics....

I was at Alta that day----it's the first LDS day at Solitude I have missed, but we did have our host party the day before, which was quite fun.

Yes, please do post pics. I'm glad you were able to sneak a few runs---I won't tell anyone

You know, the 6-pack costume would be the perfect tool for keeping legs an appropriate distance apart from each other: keep the bottom of the "bottle" taut so it can be read.

So I finally douched the camera and wanted to post a few pics from Solitude closing day. We BBQ'd and partied in the parking lot until 6:00, and it was still hard to leave. Again - cheers to a great season!

It was an eventful day - Columbian revolutionaries, getting busted for peeing out of bounds, fartbags galore, a chinese downhill, snowball fights, and PBR flowing like water! Ahhhh....good times.

Heading up the lift for the first of my big 2 runs of the day. Yeah, that's right - my friend is wearing a denim leasure suit and I'm wearing a beer mug hat.

The food was plentiful and tasty.

The first annual "Soli Sunday Awards Ceremony". This was the Rookie of the Year trophy. Yeah, we take this stuff really seriously.

I won "sidestepper of the year" because of all the right butt-cheek Honeycomb traverses completed throughout the season with minimal whining. I had to do the booty shake to Sir Mix-a-Lot as a victory dance.

Home base.

Couldn't have asked for a better day with better people. Six months and counting...

My "prize" for being the best side-stepper of the year was a pair of shorts with fake butt cheeks. Like I said, we take this stuff really seriously. :p
