Dynastar Trouble Maker

Does anyone have any input on these skis? I'm 5'7 and looking at the 165 length. They are a great deal right now, but i'll need bindings, which they reccomend Look Pivot Jib. Is there another binding I could put on this for less $ (to keep the cost down)?

Check this site, punch in Dynastar for ratings (this site is Canadian, BTW):

Troublemaker is a park/pipe/freestyle ski, twin-tip, very popular with freestylers, was one of the early dedicated skis for this (now there are many). Apparently, it stands the test of time!

Dynastars have to have Look bindings - what will work on this model is dependent on the waist width (and I haven't checked this model). If it's a wide waist, you might have to go w/what's recommended.
---I just checked, 81 mm waist, this is listed as a men's model - have you looked at "She's Trouble," the women's specific, or did this ski catch your eye somewhere on sale?

Most Dynastars will take a Look Nova (10 or 11) or a PX-10 or 12, but the variant is the width of the brake (to fit over the waist). Jerry-rigging isn't a great idea with ski brakes (i.e., having brakes bent to make them fit over wider waist).

Will tell you, though, that the Pivot is a great binding, Jib sounds as though it is freestyle specific - do you know the DIN range of it and what your current DIN is?

The shop/merchant will probably be a better source of info that I am, but maybe this is a start??

I'll watch

Yeah, I'll spot your jumps, take photos and videos, and I'll copiously post all!!! :becky: (I have experience in the photo/video of people on elements dept) But you're gonna have to find someone else to show you these ropes - my skis stay on snowa-firma!

Did you get twin-tippers? Dying to know. Don't be shy. Tell us!
