Drinks, bars, supplements, remedies?

Oops! No, I only meant while skiing!! I'm one of those weird types that can't digest food and partake in physical activity at the same time --- the old "don't swim for an hour after eating" type. Usually never a problem afterward

Curly fries - spicy, please - with that cheese sauce. My mouth waters every time I read these posts. Have printed them all out and am heading to the store to look for things!

MaineSkiLady - if you can't eat while skiing, can you eat lots later? That'd be fun!

OK ladies I couldn't resist....

Drinks - usually a Hot B52 to start, then on to pitchers of Fat Tire.

Bars - usually ZG at the base of Aspen Highlands

Supplements - mini cheeseburgers & fries, mostly.
 :p

What is Fat Tire ? a micro-brew? made in Detroit? haha

num, sign me up please :becky: !

i want to ski and dine with you!!!

for me, it's usually lunch-in-the-pocket style . . . sandwich and/or nuts and/or trailmix . . . or if i'm really on it, i'll make trailmix style homemade cookies or muffins for a snack.
i rarely make an official "stop" for lunch.

i'm sorta with you MSL when it comes to not being all that hungry while i'm skiing . . .
it's probably because my body is focused on staying warm and turning instead of digesting!

but i do force myself to eat little bits all day -- especially when i'm touring -- because i'm hypoglycemic, and if i don't i will :faint: hard!!!

the good thing is after skiing i'm STARVING!!!!

so i like to keep homemade soups and other yummies on hand at home for a quick, tastey, and fueling dinner :yahoo:

as for remedies?

arnica and msm cream are my best friends!
also zheng gu shui and plaster for bruises rock my world!

i also take glucosomine, msm, tumeric&bromoline, calcium/bone builder, iron, and vitamin C to boost immunity, speed healing, and  my knees!!!

Some time we've gotta get a bunch of us together and have a post ski (for those who don't like combining eating with skiing) feast!

Gretchen, I just realized I never gave you any info about coconut water. I get the young green coconuts and chop the tops off and stick a straw in it at home, but for on the go and stuff (or when I don't have any young coconuts on hand) I get the tetra box kind from the grocery store. My local grocery store carries them, might wanna check yours, but if your all around grocery store doesn't have em you should be able to get them at Whole Foods or a similar store. I don't get the kind that has coconut jelly or pulp in it, and though they have various flavors (orangepeel passionfruit, mango, etc) I tend to perfer the regular kind. A few good brands are Zico, VitaCoco and O.N.E.

Some people don't like it, some people love it, personally I really like it. It's like and refreshing and not sweet or strong flavored. More subtly flavored than juice or gatorade or any of those, more like water but obviously not quite. If you try it, lemme know how you like it!

I'm a huge fan of Lara Bars. They're awesome. All-natural, no preservatives, organic, raw... and despite all that (LOL) they taste pretty good too! I've only seen them at the Whole Foods by me, but I'm sure you can find them elsewhere.

Mmm Lara Bars. Cashew cookie is the best! Regarding coconut water, I withdraw the recommendation of the Vita Coco brand. It'd been fine before, but I just had a few boxes of it that had a strong aftertaste. If you're giving it a first try, go for O.N.E.
