DOLOMITES - JANUARY 2026 -YOUR RECOMMENDATIONS?

Definitely check the Venice Carnival dates if you think you might visit Venice before or after a Dolomite Ski Trip. I love staying in Venice in the winter, except during the last week of Carnival. There are several weeks of Carnival celebrations, but the last week can be extremely crowded.

Just discovered WoW Ski Tours which arranges ski tours for women in the Dolomites. An excellent option for solo women travelers. It is run by a Scottish family who have settled in Alta Badia. The tours combine an hour of instruction in the morning then exploring various areas in the Dolomites such as Alta Badia, Val Gardena, Cortina, Kronplatz.
This is a great, hassle-free introduction to skiing in this part of the Dolomites.

They are inaugurating a Women-Only Ski Academy Week program in Nendaz, 4 Vallées this year for those who want more instruction. I spoke with Leia, one of the owners and the whole set-up sounds great. Definitely considering for 2027!
