Doin' the Happy Dance!

All the snow dances and burnt offerings (and credit card offerings at the ski shops in town) are finally paying off! Snow is falling on Bogus Basin again tonight -- 2.5 inches this morning, another two inches so far tonight, and a bunch supposed to fall during the next 24 hours.

(and more all week!)

Time to start planning my Sunday!

This storm just gets better and better! Five inches Monday, six more by 3p.m. today (they clear the marker at 3) and it's 3:35 now, and at least an inch and a half has fallen since they cleared it!

This puts them over 20 inches, they're sure to open now! (and if it keeps up, they'll open the whole mountain, which should be PLENTY of exhaustion for every one!)

Oh my GOSH! I just peeked at the "snow stick" again -- over two inches since they cleared it at 3 p.m.!

What til DH gets home and sees it again!

So glad you're finally getting some! When's it looking like your first day out will be?

We had a big snowfall of beautiful fluffy stuff 4 days ago. Unfortunately the storm was placed in such a way that even though we were getting dumped on at home, absolutely nothing fell on the ski hills, even the one that's only 1.5 hours away got nothing, it didn't even hit most of the suburbs. Oh well, I'm used to skiing frozen/thawed/frozen man made anyway, so skiing was still a blast, and I got bonus sledding and frolicing in the neighborhood, not to mention taking the skis out to the sledding hill :D

For ME, Sunday morning. I'll need to get to bed extraordinarily early, cuz I do NOT do mornings!

The mountain will be opening on Thursday, which coincides with their 65th anniversary!

(had to call their snowline for that info -- it's not on their web site yet!)

Sixteen inches fell Monday and Tuesday. We're having a few hours break from more -- it's on its way, and they're talking about another six. Considering this last storm was supposed to amount to about that, maybe we'll get another fabulous dump by tomorrow morning?

DH asked this morning if I'm working tomorrow. Followed that up with, "can you get off, even just a couple of hours? If you can, I'll rearrange my day..."

I can feel a serious case of snow-flu:wink: coming on!

I'll be asking Karen if she can put in a few hours in the morning -- I can be happy with just a few runs! I can even pack work clothes in the back seat, and we could drop DH's car off in the parking lot at my work on the way up, so we could both get to work fast after a few runs down Showcase and Alpine!

Hooray! Now everyone that needs the snow has gotten it. Let's hope it keeps up for the rest of the winter.:snow:

Ah, "snow-flu". I understand it well. Here's hoping for a quick recovery! :D

Yeah, I did get that shot this fall, but I don't think it was any good -- at least not for THIS strain of flu! I don't think there's any such thing as a vaccine against Snow Flu, and I don't think it will ever be invented. Unfortunately, I gotta go to work anyway tomorrow. I hope it's not too contagious -- I want to have a little room to play this weekend!

Okay, so here's the thing: i work at a REALLY bad location!

Traffic up to the ski hill goes by our parking lot. I pulled my car into my space today, and there they were....

I'm feeling mighty whiny right now!

On the other hand, DH just said his work schedule has freed him up for an extra day of skiing next week!

Oh, I hate it when I'm getting calls and texts about heading up the mountain and I can't go so I feel ya! Glad to hear you'll be able to go next week at least.

We'll be going up on Sunday and Tuesday for SURE -- but it sounds like MAYBE it wasn't such a bad thing to not be on the road first thing this morning. Traffic had its problems....

Kind of slippery on the road, and a couple of people stalled. Then there were the morons who stopped IN THE MIDDLE of the road to put chains on.

So instead of video footage of people having fun on the first day of ski season on the news today, there's video of people sitting in traffic!

Yes, Robyn, 16 miles of two lanes, and a hundred and forty some turns! The pavement's been improved since we got to town 11 years ago, but it's still spooky enough that I'm sure glad we didn't drive up there back then!

Yowza. Now my mom can tell you a summer story about that road and coming down on her bike. She came around one of the turns to find probably 20 rattlesnakes sunbathing across the road. All she could do was lift up her legs and ride over them. :eyebrows:
