Does the Diva do a Seasonal Freshen up?

This is a weird topic title, but I honestly had a hard time thinking of how to title it.

From time to time and season to season, I occasionally get the bug to go to the salon and let her have her way with me and my style.

Its been a few years since I've done this, but the mood is striking me to walk in and tell her to give me a new look.

I'm not talking about something completely out of character for me, but something that freshens up my image and style.
The most recent pic I have of a close up is this:

and this is what I'm thinking:

Does anyone else get the bug to freshen up occasionally for a new season and a new outlook?

I'd worn my hair in a chin length bob for way too long. I saw a cut I liked in a magazine and brought it to my stylist. We both thought about it for a couple of months, then one day I walked in a told her just to go for it.

So now I have short hair, but it's kind of chunky short - not a buzz cut though. I haven't had to use a hairbrush since, and when I wash it I just scrunch it and I'm done. I especially like how it doesn't get in my eyes when I'm doing a sport or gardening.

People tell me it makes me look younger, so that's enough for me! It did take a lot of nerve to go short, though.

Everyone needs a change from time to time. I think you'll look great! And if you don't, it'll grow. That's the great thing about hair.

Go for it! (And post pix when you do.)

Well I do change seasonally. Its longer and more classic for winter. Summer because of the water sports - short. It's all coming off this Thursday. Short and spiky, its just too easy!

I was just thinking the hair cut but keep my colour, but a friend asked if I was thinking of changing my colour to the pic also and now its got me thinking. Maybe?

This thread is kind of about me, but really, I'd like to know how often do most of the divas make a change like this.

The last time I did this, it really did freshen up my attitude along with my appearance. Maybe it is time to do the whole thing - Colour and style!

This is the web site I found this pic.
Its one of the many styles my friend/hair stylist thought would work with my hair type.

I used to do this ALOT. I would just go into the stylist and say 'do something'. To some extent I'm still like this, I could care less what my hair looks like. I like it if it looks good, but if it looks not-so-good, I'm not heartbroken.

It's hair, it grows back. Have fun with it!

I drastically changed my color a few months ago. Obviously the photo with my new dark hair isn't a professionally done portrait or anything, but I like it better. I feel like my eyes pop instead of looking washed out with the blond hair. After 32 years as a blonde, It took weeks before I would see my reflection and not think I was looking at someone else, but I liked it right from the start. The only hassle is that it requires maintenance. Of my eyebrows too... but it's worth it, I think.

Don't sell your eyes short. They Pop no matter what colour your hair is.
Your hair is beautiful both ways, so you have Options!!! :D

I have short hair to begin with and always have had short hair. I had it cut last week a bit shorter for summer and in another 4 weeks I will be getting blonder highlights !

altagirl :

wow... you look totally different with the dark hair than the blond. Both look good, however I kinda like the blonde better as your eyes just have more color, whereas with the dark your eyes may stand out more but they just seem dark rather than blue... but that's just me.

I think a lot of it is the photo/lighting quality. The blonde one was a professional portrait vs. a recent snapshot in my living room. My eyes are actually light green, but sometimes they look more blue depending on what I'm wearing or the light.

But thanks! :D

Can't wait to see your pics, Snowhot!

Just came home and got a really weird look from my husband.

Looks good, Tricia!

Did he know you were going to do it? You also got your ends blown out into the flip, yeah? I'd also like to see how it'd look hanging naturally. Looks to be a versatile fresh change without being over the top.

I really like it.
It is similar to a summer doo I did a few years ago but with a little more sassy!!
My husband wished I kept growing it. And NO! I didn't warn him I was doing this. I knew he'd want me to keep it long and I let him know a long time ago, its only hair and it grows, so he should expect me to do something different from time to time:D

I had a similar cut a few years ago and had the flip
The way she cuts it, it flips naturally and I need to use a round brush to roll it under if I want it to lay flat.
both ways are cute, but the natural way this will be when I tuck it behind my ears is, it will fip in the back and lay low on the sides, snuggly behind my ears.
really great and fresh for the summer.
