Do You Ski on Christmas Day?

I LOVE to ski on Christmas Day! It's very quiet on the slopes as people open gifts.....Love it!

How about you? Do you Ski on Christmas Day?

You betcha. Another good one is Super Bowl Sunday. Well, at least it was when the game was earlier in the day....it keeps getting moved later on the calendar AND the clock...I'm good for 12/24 this year as well, no family around.

OK, I feel better!

I thought I was the only one who will be skiing Christmas day this year (at least plan to).

The funny part is, my Mom is ALWAYS invited to play in some important bridge game on Christmas. So I'm left alone...

I'd like to, but my "problem" is that Christmas is also my brother's b'day, so it's not easy getting away. Planning on getting in a morning on 12/24, though.

Close Enough! Tell your brother Happy Birthday! :cheer:

YES! DH and I ski on Christmas day -- kids are all off doing with their in-laws, so we're free to do whatever we want to. Skiing seems like the perfect way to spend the day!

Kind of like when we were kids, and got sleds or something for Christmas, then went out to play in the snow...

I'll be working in the ski shop Christmas Day AND New Years Day (hey, someone has to!). But I do love skiing on Super Bowl Sunday. MaineSkiLady is right -- the slopes just empty out. And since I'm not a football fan, the game doesn't matter to me.

And I AM a football fan. That's what VCR's and then TiVo/DVR's are for! I have seriously watched DH watch recorded games in FAST FORWARD so he'd be educated for work on Mon a.m. Have to drag that man off the mountain, he's STILL worse than I am (and totally intrigued by this site, and he cries at movies at the right time, how lucky did I get????...  )

This year I am planning on skiing the 23rd, 24th, and possibly on the 25th. I will also ski on the 30th, 31st, and 1st. I do enjoy skiing New Years Day morning, as there are few people on the slopes. Superbowl Sunday is another good one.

However, I refuse to ski during Martin Luther King weekend or Presidents' weekend . . . way too crowed for me.

I'm not skiing Christmas Day, as our local hill isn't open that day. And I'm travelling to Tremblant anyways on Boxing Day. All my equipment is up there too. But New Years Day - yeah. It's really quiet in Quebec as its more of a family day and they get a second day off on the 2nd!

I've always wondered what Boxing day is. Can you teach me?

I ski every chance I get. If there's an opportunity for me to ski this Christmas, I'm grabbing it. Since there's been great snow in these parts, there's a very good change I might end up on the slopes this Christmas.

Christmas Day is a day of family time on the slopes and great bargains at the lift ticket office.

With any luck, someone in my family will be donning some new ski gear for Christmas.

I'm soooooooooooo excited to ski with my niece and nephew again. I miss them terribly now that they're all grown up and moved far far away.

OOOH did I mention that my niece interviewed for a job near Mt Hood!!!?
Auntie SH may have to help her move out there, during ski season of course.

NVG - Boxing Day is a Bristish tradition. Box up all the stuff. Has nothing to do with fists or gloves. Now it's turned into a "box up what doesn't fit, don't like and return it." Here our local mall has their after Christmas sales and won't take returns until later in the week.

Yep. My family doesn't celebrate, so it's time off without anywhere I need to be. Around here, pretty much no one's out on the hill on Christmas so it works out great. Zooming around empty slopes and no work the next day? Doesn't get much better than that :D
