Hi everyone, any suggestions for places to stay in Big Sky? Hoping to make it after I finish the ski camp in Jackson the week before!

Thank you for posting this. I can't wait to ski with some of you! I'm going to the Women Who Ski week in Big Sky, which I think overlaps with the Ski Diva dates. I hope to join both somehow!
Hi Laura, yes our trips overap. @RachelV and I planned it this way. Women skiers/riders take over Big Sky. It's going to be THE women's ski event of the season for sure!

Suki, there are lots of place on AirBnB and VRBO listed by private owners in Big Sky. You might be able to split the cost with a Diva here or a member of WWS. You are 6th on my waiting list. Hard to say if we'll have any cancellations as this is such an in-demand trip.

I wanted to start a public thread about our 2026 trips, for anyone who's not yet a member or hasn't posted much. The main planning threads for these trips -- like all threads involving in-person meetups -- can only be seen if you're a registered member with at least 15 posts.

If you're a newer member, reply to a few threads, or start a new thread to introduce yourself in the Getting To Know You forum. I think you'll be surprised how quickly you can get to 15 posts. If you're not a member yet, join the forum here! We'd love to have you.

So! Every year, we organize two trips, and this year those trips are:

Diva East: Whiteface, in early February 2026. Once you're a registered member with enough posts, you can see all the details here:

Diva West: Big Sky, in mid-March 2026. Once you're a registered member with enough posts, you can see all the details here:

There's a blog post with some general info about Diva Weeks here:

If you've never been to a Diva Week, we really encourage you to come. Meeting other Divas to ski in person is truly one of the best parts of this community. If you're a newer member and have any general questions, please ask here!
Just made a post about this on Women Who Ski Facebook page. Hopefully more ladies from there will join this incredible forum and participate in your Big Sky Resort trip by finding friends online to share lodging. Thanks so much, Rachel.

I’ll be watching for lodging info too as this would be my first time to MT.
And also will need to figure out transportation from the airport. Haven’t started to research yet on whether there are shared shuttle options which would be great!

Definitely interested in learning more about the 2 trips.
Looks like you just posted enough to see the Diva West and Diva East threads in the Divas Only section. Typically there is a Roll Call thread for people who intend to attend. Also can be thread(s) with advice about lodging or other travel issues.

Thank you! I appreciate you sharing this! I have been waiting to go back to Big Sky once the new tram was installed. I have never been to Whiteface!

Would love to know more about the Big Sky trip
As was noted in Posts #27 and #28, the planning threads for Diva West are in Divas Only. You'll need to post a bit more to gain access. Post #1 has the link to general info about how Diva West/East gatherings generally happen.

Can you see the Getting To Know You section? If you create a self-introduction thread, the followup discussion can be a quick way to get enough posts.

There hasn't been too much lodging chatter yet, but post here if you're looking to share:

We'd love to have you

Hi Rachel,
I hope you're well! I wanted to check in because I still don't seem to have access to the Ski Diva Week forums. I’ve made over 15 posts and was under the impression that reaching that number would unlock the Diva-only sections. Just wondering if there’s anything else I need to do on my end?
Thanks so much!

Oh no, now I am gonna have to figure out how to afford Big Sky (anyone wanna room with a food-allergic/noise-sensitive person, lol)?

This is where I learned how to ski on straight sticks. Cried on re-arrival as a teen in the 90's as the base began to build up commercially... but, since I couldn't change that:

I have an amazing memory of my last wonderful, random, tin-can-tram-ski-the-backside family visit ~2005 with a mountain local who needed a partner down the backside of Lone Peak when things were still *empty*. An anomalous helmet-wearer of the times. Learned a bunch of geography up top, to boot.

("Always keep your hands in front of you", and here are all the ways to self-arrest, and Big Sky is really rock-heavy right now... good advice). We stopped at one of the old egg-gondola ski patrol shelters on the way down to take a break. Broke his pole tip when I got wedged under a log (& extracted) in the spring-like lower mountain conditions, but he reassured me it wasn't the first time, so no mortifcation, lol. Not all adults are bad people... I do really wanna go back

I wonder if my very-first ski instructor is still around in the area, or still skiing?!?!

Are you still unable to access? It seems like it might take 15 min or so for the software to reflect the user title change... If you still can't see the threads today I'll take a closer look.

Probably doesn't make that much difference for Divas considering going to Diva East to ski Whiteface, but news in July was that Whiteface joined the Mountain Collective pass for 2025-26.

A Mountain Collective pass provides 2 days at each resort, plus 50% off any additional days. The price as of early September is $669. Usually stays on sale until mid-December. The other northeast resorts on the MC are Sugarloaf, Sunday River, plus Bromont and Le Massif de Charlevoix in Québec.
