HI - we have some similarities in term of spoiling our kids with Alta trips ;it was SUCH an easy choice for a spring vacation -- although Taos was another big fave - just harder to get to . For an east coast skier, I got Utah roots relatively early - I learned to ski in my mid 20s in New England and in my late 20s my first "real" job was covering Salt Lake transportation companies (providing debt) A couple of times/winter, I would tack on some days up in the Canyons but would stay down in town and take the bus up. I still default to the Little America hotel if I am not going to be wedded to one mountain...You probably have what we call Full Ikon, which includes 7 Alta/Bird days. Reason I asked is that Alta is not on Ikon Base.
FYI, I'm only a few years younger. Lucky to have retired early, partially thanks to having a non-skiing husband who worked for IBM for his entire career. I don't quite qualify for 70+ discounts on lift tickets yet, but old enough to get a Alta Senior Pass.
There is a long story as to why I spoil myself in April at Alta Lodge. There are friends who come and go then, including a few Divas. I spoiled my daughter even more by taking her for spring break trips when she was a tween. Spring rates are lower, plus children 12 and under are free during the last few weeks of the season.
I and my travel mates will be skiing that Saturday (hence my curiosity about Sundance) but it won't be in LCC/BCC. For this mid-season trip, I opted to stay in Sandy in order to more easily ski elsewhere before Diva West starts.
There will be Diva West meetups at Alta on Sunday, Jan. 26. Most likely a lunch spot as well for people who know Alta and aren't interested in a guided tour in the morning. I expect there to be folks who will plan a meet up in advance for Monday morning. Later in the week may be different since by then most people will have met other Divas, if they didn't already have Diva friends to ski with. Will the Diva Group meet on Sunday to ski, or will that be as of Monday?
I think I am going to stay in Alta if the group mostly ski's in Alta, unless you would advise otherwise?
Just missed you, was there over the long weekend. You got some of that fresh snow I hope!I was literally just going to ask if anyone was headed to Alta/Snowbird this year. I booked a few weeks later for Feb 9-14th. Maybe I can swing the Diva West again this year in Jan. But also wanted to put out there that if you are at Alta/Snowbird that week in Feb, would love to meet up to ski.![]()
Me too. I am an east coast skier and hoping I can attend, even a day of the skiing.New member here and without enough posts to view info about Diva East 2025. Looking forward to building the minimum so I can join![]()
I am available and very very interested!! Save a spot for me! Can’t wait to meet all of you! ;)I wanted to start a public thread about our 2025 in-person meetups, for anyone who's not yet a member or hasn't posted much. The main threads -- like all threads involving in-person meetups -- can only be seen if you're a registered member with at least 15 posts. If you're a newer member, reply to a few threads, or start a new thread to introduce yourself in the Getting To Know You forum. I think you'll be surprised how quickly you can get to 15 posts.
So! Every year we do 2 trips, and this year we're doing these:
Diva West is at Alta & Snowbird, in late January 2025. If you're registered with enough posts, you can see all the threads with all the details here:
Diva East is at Sugarloaf & Saddleback, in early March 2025. All the info is here:
There's a blog post with some general info about Diva Weeks here:

Yes this blog is extremely helpful! I’m good with all aspects of the diva weeks.Just FYI, our trips are a little different than many trips run by ski clubs, in that we all agree to be in the same place at the same time and ski together, but everyone handles their own travel, lodging and lift tickets. Here's a blog post with details on how the trips work:

Taos Ski Weeks exist the entire season. The most common time for Divas to do one is in February. January can be thin for snow coverage for steeper terrain off-piste. March gets into spring break crowds. A popular week is the last week of February, which has the Women's Ski Week that only happens once a season.one question regarding Taos ski weeks …when do divas usually go to those. It would be great to coordinate a MOTH after the clinics.
