Well, the votes are in, ladies, and it's official:

Diva Week '09, AKA Diva Summit, is going to be the first week of March, '09. :dancing:

So from February 28 through March 7, the Divas wlll converge on Summit County, CO.

The state will never be the same. :eyebrows:

Come for all, come for part, whatever you like. Right now I'm planning to be there all week, but that's me.

We'll more than likely have some special events planned, so stay tuned.

Incidentally, when you figure out when you'll be there, post it here.

Thanks for making it official! Now I can make my plans for other skiing!

And I should be there for at least part of that week w/ DH in tow! :yahoo:

That's my usual winter vk week, will put in for it again

I am definitely going to need some help with getting flight & lodging together... think I'm flying solo, the whole vacation planning thing is new to me. (I usually just crash on someone's couch!)... But VERY excited!!!!

Give me some time and I will post some links to lodging and transportation resources and such. There may be some groups wanting to get together on condos and such so anyone who is interested in that should post that so you all can start communicating.

For flights, I'd start looking at all the typical websites, set up alerts for those that do that sort of thing (Orbitz). You'll be doing a balancing act as there could be sales later but you don't know if fuel etc are going to cause fare increases.

ZB: as a fellow Mainuh, best deals to Denver are usually out of Manchester* via Southwest. Some flights might actually be direct, but I think most transfer at Chicago-Midway. Still pretty good, and usually reasonable. Way too early to book w/them this far ahead, but as the booking time nears, the website will offer web specials (non-refundable) that are unbeatable.

* and if it's necessary for you to stay overnight in Manchester due to early, early departure, most of the airport-region hotels have stay and park options. Otherwise, long-term parking is $8/day with discount if paid w/AmEx card.

I'm your "deal" diva (at least in our region). Keep in touch.

Don't forget the lift tickets!!:nono:

These deals you don't have to be present to buy...you can get them over the internet & have your picture taken once you get here.

What do they mean by 5 non-transferable ski days at Keystone or Breckenridge? Does that mean you have to choose one or the other?

It just means that you can't give those days to someone else.

What that means is that you have to use them, not a guest.
In fact, the days at those other resorts are built into the code on the pass, so they scan when you go through the lift line.

I have that pass and used 4 of my 5 days at Breck/keystone, but never made it to Vail.
Edit: Robyn beat me to it.

Add: As a comparison, Breck and Keystone tickets are nearly 90/day, Abasin 60-70/day so a season pass of some kind is worth while.

Well, that's just it -- I never figured transferring from one person to another was even an option. That's why I asked about it; it seemed like a strange way to put it.

Well, as far as the tranferrable issue, you can get a 4 pack to Copper and/or Winter Park that ARE transferable...so that means the card does not have your picture on it. This is more expensive than the non-transferable 4 pack.

4 pack to Loveland that runs $99 early season is just 4 lift tickets that they hand to you..no card at all!

Oh...and check out this link for everything Copper/Winter Park/Steamboat, etc (Intrawest)

That's the information I was wondering about. Just what are lifts at these resorts? So for 1 week, one of these passes might be a good deal. Just have to figure out which one to get and any restrictions as I'm not even a US citizen. Got my passport today though!!

Speaking of transferrable 4 packs. If anyone wants any of the Copper/Winter Park ones I should be able to sell them in the fall to you with a portion going to my team. They are transferrable between people but not on the same day (So Wendy, Jilly, SnowHot and I can't buy one 4 pack to ski together on the same day).

I don't think citizenship matters on any of the passes, they just want your money. :D

Also I have a season pass at Tremblant, which is an Intrawest Resort. I haven't seen anything on our "perks list" about savings at Copper. Just the Canadian resorts. So, I'm going to contact them about that perk, if its there or not.

I'm planning 5 of my ski days at the Vail Resorts (Breck, Keystone, A-Basin, etc.) and one day at Copper. The A-Basin pass divided by five brings tickets to these down to $75.80 per day; hopefully, we can get a discount for Copper. Is this the best way to go?

So, which resorts will the Divas be skiing at during Diva Week? Keystone, Breck, Copper, Vail, ABasin? Depending on that, some kind of pass seems smart, if you're skiing for 5+ days.
