Diva-influenced gear tally!

Okay, as the season draws to a close, it's time to take stock of the stuff!

A lot of us have gotten GREAT advice over the course of the season - and have found out about products and stuff we didn't otherwise know existed. Hmmm, sometimes the temptation was far too great!!

So how did the forum influence your gear closet this season? Did we cajole you into those skis? (I think I had a hand in pushing several!!) Other gear?

For me, it was certainly the CW-X compression tights (which I REALLY like and were quite the splurge, given it's only underwear!!). I also picked up a Powderfish neck gaiter, tired of the slimy tendencies of the usual suspects - a big splurge for what it is, but it does perform as reviewed!!

The sizing advice I got in re: ski pants was extremely helpful, and I wound up with great pants that FIT. (for now??)

My boot and ski choices probably would have happened as they did. Got a lot of good input, though.

How about you?

Several of my purchases this season were as a result of direct diva influence:

Queen Attiva skis
Fischer Vision Breeze skis
Powderfish neck gaiter
helmet
TuneUps for helmet
Hot Gear boot bag
books (In the Yikes! Zone and Right on the Edge of Crazy)

You ladies are a baaaaaad influence!

Here are my Diva-influenced purchases:

Powderfish neck gaiter
Icebreaker base layer shirt
Audio ear pieces for my Boeri helmet

No big equipment purchases this year. But I'd love those Auras! And that's definitely Diva-influenced!

Yep, bad influence indeedy. But, I got some great stuff based on your advice:

CWX tights (great investment)
iPod skullcandy for helmet

and my search for Auras came by talking with the other Divas who own them. If I end up purchasing them, it will be my first, but certainly not my last, Diva-influenced ski purchase!:becky:

My demoless grab of Fischer Vision 70s last season was diva induced. I have the cw-x tights that aren't insulated, but the divas got me looking for an insulated pair. I was planning on getting a hot gear bag, but kind of stalling due to cost, and I pulled the trigger due to splitting the deal with a diva (thanks, Calgal!), so that's kind of diva influenced.

I guess that puts me at 1.5 and one to come?

Being my first year back <and loving to shop> MOST of my purchases were inspired by reading skidiva and getting wonderful advice, thank you!!

K2 One Luv's 160
Volkl AC Unlimited in 163 <dbf>
Technica Attiva boots...with bootfitting.. again, didn't know until you! and I had custom insoles made.
Goggles
Leki poles
Actual ski socks! I didn't even now they existed...

My SAC purchases I'd have to say were inspired, being that I had never heard of SAC....

Dakine hoodie
Northface top/bottom baselayers
Goggles came from SAC
6 pair of ski socks... they were a steal!

Next year, I'll be looking to get a great jacket and pants AND a helmet! The jacket and pants I purchased online were too big..<just a wee bit!> and although I've found helmets at a great price, I want to try them on my big noggin' before I buy! I have a big brain in there! <that's what I keep telling myself! ha ha>

I was pretty good this season but have things on the list for next season!

Powderfish Gaiter
Smartwool Socks
Glove liners from SAC
Custom Boots

On the list for next season:
Fat skis (Considering Auras, Phats and Sweet Fat Things)
New helmet
Hopefully some new pants with some summer weight loss.

Kimmyt

Fischer Vi70s sans[\I] demo.

Other than that I was pretty good this year.

I'm working on that one too! Hmmm.. perhaps we should start a "support" group in the fitness section. I'm not worried about being thin, I just want to be in better shape! Healthier and more fit!... thoughts?

I'll go post a thread to see if there's interest.

ETA: I think I'm going to put it in the "Other Stuff" forum as I can see it adding healthy eating etc into the discussion.

A Transpack (not XTW)--only could find XT1--don't know if there's much difference aside from the cool XTW prints.

On my short list for next purchases:

Auras
Ski pants that fit (my Arcteryx are so huge, though I love them)

Just the Auras this year. I never would have demoed them without Diva influence.

Non-Diva inspired purchases:
2007 Racetiger GS to replace my bent 2006s. :(
Marker stretch pants.
Spyder jacket - finally something that's NOT black!! :yahoo:

That's it. I was a good girl this year. Next year I'll be due for a new helmet and a new speed suit if I keep losing weight :yahoo: . I think I'm all set for skis for a while  .

How'd you like the bottoms? Mine fit me kinda weird, they're fitted on the thighs and baggy from the knee down. It kinda makes sense with my build, but I thought the stretchness of the fabric would make it so they weren't baggy. Seems like they'd be warm, and they're nice and soft.

It seems EVERYONE has Transpacks. Bought one for my DH. But I still use this VERY ugly Atomic Skiercross backpack that is orange, green, and black. It does hold my boots and helmet, and has 2 more outside pockets for gloves and such, so it works. And there's no mixing it up with anyone else's - who else would have something that ugly? But it works. And it cost me $12.

Calgal

Ski Diva Extraordinaire
HotGearBag (thanks to Num for her work on the deal)
Oakley ski pants (which didn't fit me so given to son)
Smartwool Socks
Spy Soldier goggles (like em lots)
Grandoe UpDown leather mitts
Boot Gloves

This yr was about getting and staying warm !
